Wonder if hallmark running the 458 could lead to them operating more bus services and maybe bus services for TFL

Wonder if hallmark running the 458 could lead to them operating more bus services and maybe bus services for TFL Yep that's the plan. This temporary service contact is for 9 months then everything is up for re tender.

Wonder if hallmark running the 458 could lead to them operating more bus services and maybe bus services for TFL Well, they'd have to be on the TfL approved operators list before they could even consider bidding for TfL contracts

I just hope SCC sought out the Discovery Ticket acceptance, it will be useless if I can't ride half of the routes anymore that were supported by operators. Looking back at my recent Berkshire/Buckinghamshire visit makes me wish councils would take a more powerful position regarding fares. A standardised fare system such as those used in Germany would work very well. Discovery Ticket is administered by South Downs National Park Authority. Any company wishing to join to sell them has to apply through them. SCC, Kent, East and West Sussex do put it into their contracts though saying they must accept it even if they don't issue it.

See I've actually wondered about Ensign recently since they've been operating the LO-T service. I know they're not keen on going back to tendered London work BUT could this little venture have tickled their interest a bit. You never know!

I think hell will freeze over before Ensignbus take on standard TfL contracted work. They *really* dislike any political interference with the operation of buses. Doing planned rail replacement work is much more of a "core business" for them and I expect LU pays reasonably well so they'll cope with that. The operational risk of RRS sits with whoever is managing on the day and that may or may not be Ensign depending on whether they are lead contractor or a subbie (as they are to Arriva on the LO-T).

I wonder what buses stagecoach will be using on the 715 once the service starts Will have to be single deck vehicles. As the 715 will be retendered next year, not a lot of point Stagecoach getting anything bespoke (yet), so I would imagine they will scrape together some Darts, E200s and/or Optare Solos for use on the route.

Just seen a Hallmark Scania branded for 458. It's white with a red skirt. Looked really smart.

I spoke to one of their drivers in Croydon when they were doing Tramlink replacement and he said they've got more than enough work on their plate to think about TfL contracts.

So it's a different operator using a six year old bus?
