Stand is on Walton Gardens. The adjacent road Shelson Avenue is now closed at the junction with Chertsey Road, therefore at the end of Walton Gardens vehicles will have to turn left to go towards Ashford Road. Many thanks for that - I'd never have guessed that the stand was there! I'm a little surprised that the stand itself is named 'Lower Feltham, Three Horseshoes', given that it's absolutely nowhere near the Three Horseshoes pub...!

Definitely need some long term planning, a few ideas I had: 22 Extended via current 209 route to Mortlake Avondale Road. 82 New Route. Roehampton Bessborough Road via 72 to Castelnau. Operated by Go Ahead with buses from the 485. 190 Extended from West Brompton via 430 to South Kensington. Additional peak hour buses between Manor Circus and Hammersmith. 209 Withdrawn, replaced by 22 and 419. 419 Rerouted at Castelnau to Wetlands Centre and as 22 to Putney Bridge Station. 430 Withdrawn between Fulham Palace Road and South Kensington and rerouted to Hammersmith giving a direct link to Roehampton. 485 Withdrawn N33 and N72 double run to serve Castelnau The rerouting of 430 to Hammersmith would be very sensible, subject to stand space being available . I can’t believe the over capacity on routes 74 and 430 between Putney High Street and South Kensington has been allowed to continue for so long. A link between Hammersmith and Putney Station is long overdue. The Old Brompton Road would be better served by route 190 which currently terminates short of a traffic destination. The 190 is quite busy these days especially following the cut back of route 27. If it arrives first on King Street heading west in the evening peak it gets quite full. And yet the 430 patronages figures are pretty good - probably just needs a readjusting of frequencies or as I brought it up in another thread, a spacing out between the 74 & 430. Anytime I've been through that way (not local so you can tell me to go away if you please), the 430 has always loaded well alongside the 74. I do agree about a link between Hammersmith & Putney though & currently, the 430 probably is the best candidate to achieve it although those along the current 72 link would never receive their direct link back even if it was the diverted version via Chiswick Bridge which personally should of continued on. Now if there was money, I'd simply introduce a Wimbledon to Hammersmith route via the 93 & then down Fulham Palace Road creating yet more links and giving assistance to the 93.

I do use the 430 quite a bit and the bit between Fulham place road and south Ken is definitely the least used bit. The 190 extension to South ken makes up for the 430 cut.

That's my experience of the 430 as well, busy between Roehampton and Putney Bridge but pretty dead north of there.

I was in Richmond yesterday, had planned on other areas but weather collapsed sun wise so gave up. There is no uniformity on destination displays on the 33 or 419, Some have additional boards others don't.

The 209 has side boards, but both front number and destination displays on the 209 and 533 are all correct.

Personally I would reroute the 209 back to Hammersmith via Chiswick bridge and withdraw the 533. Other wise think the 430 rerouting is great. Would you reroute the 209 straight from Mortlake? If you did then there would be no point in running it as it would then not serve Barnes at all.

Recall visiting that busy stand, with AVs RM's and LS's on the 117. Even had a night bus briefly (N67) and at Sunbury Village (N97). Back to Hammersmith Bridge. I do agree things could now be done to change the wider network. I also think the 74/430 provision is way over the top. Maybe extend the 85 to Hammersmith, put the 74 back to Roehampton, withdraw the 430 and as suggested extend and double deck the 190 but only to Earls Court.

The 430 provides a localised service for Roehampton, linking to the shops and rail services in Putney. Withdrawing it and relying on an extension of the 74 will jeopardise that local service because of delays in Central London. I would be in favour of rerouting the 430 to Hammersmith.

I think Putney High Street has too many buses going down it. Getting rid of one route wouldn’t be a problem. Last week I saw several empty 74’s and 430’s crossing Putney Bridge towards AF. I don’t think Baker Street to Roehampton is by any means a route too long.

I think it's only a matter of time before Victoria/HPC/Marble Arch/Baker Street is rationalised. If the 74 was say cut to Marble Arch with maybe the 30 to Baker Street then Roehampton to Marble Arch would be manageable.

Another option would be the reroute the 74 to go straight down the Old Brompton Road to South Kensington then that could make Roehampton-Baker Street managable. I do agree that TFL will cut buses from Baker Street with the 74 the most likely candidate, I can see the 30 and 74 swapping termini as you said
