I noticed today that the 209s are staying "209 to..." with the screen showing Castelnau, Lonsdale Road. I do think Hammersmith bridge is a better description for the 33/209/485 for all intents and purposes the routes still go to Hammersmith except that they have to cut slightly short but atleast having the word Hammersmith in the derivation makes people aware of it. Yeah noticed this as well today. It has to be said if you didn't really know the area it can be very confusing especially the 33, you get some buses displaying Hammersmith, others displaying Hammersmith Bridge and on on the windscreen paper blinds saying castelnau. The Ibus says Caselnau. On another note I finally saw a 419 was displaying Barnes Pond today it was DE20062, I'm guessing this bus would already of had it on the blind set. You could compromise and have Hammersmith Bridge, Lonsdale Road - locals know it reaches Lonsdale Road whilst others know it reaches Hammersmith Bridge. The other alternative is to have Hammersmith Bridge, South Side.

I’ve just had a thought that I’ve been thinking about overnight. Instead of introducing this new 533, couldn’t TFL just have the Mortlake end of the 209 extended to Hammersmith via Chiswick Bridge while still terminating at Castelnau/Lonsdale Road on the other end?

If the 265 shorts do work the 419 extension, then I wonder if we'll see the 419's allocation split between S and FW. RATP may deem it too much of a hassle to move six drivers from S to FW to work the 419, when S can work the 419 alongside FW. S are no strangers to the 419, having taken it on in 2014 when it was turfed out of V, and run it for the following three years.
EDIT: 6 buses not drivers

I still think it will go to FW as dead runs will be quicker from FW I think. I'm guessing the notice was posted at FW as well.

I've been suggesting exactly this for a while now, TFL's changes in the Barnes area have been quite messy and confusing with more new routes introduced than necessary, introducing the 378 and 533 when the 209/485/etc could have perhaps been modified instead. I'm sure TFL could adjust some frequencies to make this possible, otherwise perhaps the 378 could take over the 533 contract at AH, with the MMCs at AF operating a combined 209/533 route.

I think the 419 extension is a nice idea but I would have increased the frequency of the 533 and extended it to Roehampton from Lonsdale road.

TfL are super reluctant to modify any existing routes as it'll be harder to kill the links if they're popular. Victoria Dock Road in Custom House was shut for so long that residents were calling for temporary route 541 to be made permanent! Obviously the round the corner links from Barking Road into New Barn Street & Freemasons Road proved very popular, but it would be overkill once the 241 returned to its line of route. The same feeling I get from the 378 really; TfL don't want to send it up to Hammersmith even though the 220 really needs the support. Well the 220 has always craved for a higher frequency of every 15 minutes in the evenings south of Hammersmith, but given the bridge closure TfL seem more indignant to not increase the 220's frequency.

Sundays are another time the 220 could do with a frequency increase, buses are crush loaded between Willesden Junction and Putney Bridge. The frequency on a Sunday should really be increased to every 8 minutes with the evening frequency increased to every 10-12 minutes
