We can all dream but the route's reliability needs get fixed first if we're to even think about any extensions. And TfL adding more buses on, pigs will fly sooner Are there reliability issues? Whenever I've used the R7 buses have sauntered round at a gentile pace and comfortably kept to time. The figures are generally pretty terrible. Traffic in Orpington, Petts Wood and Chislehurst really takes its toll during the peaks. A fifth bus would help enormously

Actually I rode from Chislehurst to Orpington on an evening journey not so long ago and I was the only one onboard for the entire journey.

If this change doesn't work, I wonder if Arriva will finally withdraw from Sevenoaks local services altogether and leave it to Go Coach.

Classic deregulated Arriva - cut, cut, cut, cut, close garage, cut, cut, withdraw entirely. And usually from what would be half decent bus territory if some effort was expended. I've lost count of areas that Arriva have effectively left to the competition who then make decent money from the former Arriva routes.

Only if they improve the train service from Knockholt. Outside of rush hour it is meagre. They will still need buses for local journeys to Green Street Green or Orpington High Street.

I don't think many people need buses to Green Street Green High Street, it sounds far more important than what it actually is. They would for sure need buses to Orpington, Sevenoaks and I'd argue Bromley as well to not be almost cut off from the rest of the world.

There is a half hourly off peak train service which is probably as good as it's going to get? Wasn't it hourly not so long ago? The train would surely be the better option for many to Sevenoaks and Orpington and even Bromley South with a change? That said I think rerouting the R7 that way could be a viable option?

This is hardly major cuts indeed there are a lot of positives and Arriva are opening a new state of the art garage in Tunbridge Wells later this year.

You might be surprised at how many would use the 2 doctors surgeries, traditional butcher and the very popular Queens Head pub in Green Street Green.

That would be the Rose & Crown on the roundabout. Indeed it still has ‘buses only’ signs on the entrance to what is now part of its car park.

Indeed I used to remember seeing R11's stand in the Rose & Crown when i used to pass it on my way to and from my aunts house.
