When First group operated the 61 I remember seeing a marshal bodied dart on it, also the i think the 269 had single deckers on it in the late 90s.

Recently I've seen the 507s and 521s running in pairs at peak times. Are they time tabled to do that or does the 2nd bus catch its leader due to the frequency?

Loads of times I've heard about it over center com and saw it in Ladywell where all they wanted was a ride up the hill to come flying back down.
I don't think they realise how hot it gets and how painful it would be until it happens to go wrong and then again the media will say its the bus drivers fault when nearly all the time he or she doesn't know they have someone hanging on the back.

Having just read about E240 on another thread, what happened to the poor bus on 1st December that meant its temporary removal from service? I think it had an RTC on Shooters Hill, something like it hit something at the bottom as it came down the hill. I've heard the story but I'm not entirely sure about the details. I saw E240 parked up at NX a few weeks ago when I was on earlies and there was damage to the rear of the bus below the rear lights on the nearside and a bit of damage above the bonnet lid on the nearside, I did look at the front to see if there was any damage, but I haven't heard anything about how it happened.

There are TWO sides to every story, we do not know the drivers side!!! Also will the out come of this investigation be correctly published in the same newspaper as a follow up article? I very much doubt it!!! Would it not be an idea to ask the paper in a few weeks time if they have heard anymore about this issue and then speak to the bus company to see what the out come of their investigation is??
