Ferrari handed Lewis the championship, by about 75%. Vettel the other 25% IMO. All four of Vettel's world titles weren't not won until the latter parts of the season. He can't handle the pressure of keeping a lead and although he has a brilliant sense of humour he's not very good at the mind games needed to have that slight edge over your opponent. Either way this season has been exciting and really close until the last two races, hopefully next year Red Bull can be more of a challenger.

What Westminster council is doing here just goes to show how stupid, ineffective and inefficient local government/ councils are! Rate payers should be asking questions of those in charge because according to this article, they own the site so were renting it out to Go Ahead and getting a source of income. Now they have kicked Go Ahead out and put their smelly dustcarts in (which have worse emissions than the buses), whilst also having to pay Southwark council business rates.

The best thing i can suggest is go on Facebook and search for Bromley bus preservation group, as they are really good at tracking buses down and might be able to help you out. Other than that search operates who have ran them and ask.

It looks like its near the traction motor. Possibly be a high voltage cable getting too hot and then combusting.

I think trams would be better on trunk roads more than replacing bus routes. My idea-
Tram terminus at Bromley South on the high street, following the 208 to lewisham then up to New Cross up through Peckham and Camberwell to terminate at Vauxhall. Split the 136 into two parts (Grove Park to Downham) (Peckham to E&C). Reduce the 208 to Bromley North or Catford (reducing the frequency for Catford), also reduce the 320 to Bromley North. The frequency of the 36, 436, 177 can be reduced.
Tram terminus at London Bridge following the 47 route but staying on Lower Road to Lewisham, linking in with the above route. Route 47 can be withdrawn, withdraw the 199 from Catford to Lewisham. The 75 can be cut back to Catford Town Centre.
A possible tram depot could be along the A21 after Farnborough Hospital (extending the Bromley South branch to Farnborough Hospital, again reducing the frequencies along the A21). You could also have a branch into Orpington but I am not sure on the routing because of the width or the roads from Locks Bottom.
Obviously this is just for South East London, I don't know many other parts of London well enough to comment on. I'm sure with more thinking it could be developed to expand into Greenwich, possibly Woolwich. With a bit of tweaking I'm sure you could extend the trams from Beckenham Junction to Bromley South following the railway line (modifying the platforms at Shortlands and Bromley South)

They weren't popular at the garages due to corrosion. It's said that some of them had rust found during the PDI!! Thankfully MD60 was rescued and it's a terrific bus. That is true. Ensign have an open top MD in their 'toy cupboard', not sure if its an ex London one though and my Dad thinks there is a Leicester MD in preservation too.

Mine would be the MD class of Metropolitans, Titans (I remember walking home form secondary school and listening to the gardener engines along Masons Hill/ Bromley Common) plus they looked better than Metrobuese IMO. Todays buses would be ADL E400 Hybrids and 17/18000 Tridents.

Ladies and Gentleman as it's been a while since a pointless quiz has been done, I thought I would create one. Usual rules apply for scoring and PM me your answers. Closing date will be 18:00hrs Tuesday 27th December (It can be extended to the Wednesday if enough people prefer it to because of commitments etc etc)
Christmas Pointless Quiz
1- Name a bus route that crosses the Thames inside the congestion charging zone? 2- Name a Post WW2 bus type that has had more than 250 buses in the class with one company?
3- Name a bus garage that use to be a tram or trolleybus depot?
4- Name a bus route that terminates at a bus garage? (The route has to use the garage as a stand and not just show it on the blinds)
5- Name a chassis and body combination that have been built after 1994?
6- Name an underground station that has 3 or more lines serving it? (If you’re struggling I will accept stations were the Overground serves)
7- Name a royal park?
8- Name a country area bus garage? (Before London Country became London Country Bus Services)
9- Name a Greenline route?
10- Name a London bus type where there is/was 100 or less in the class? (I will accept country area types too)
