Metroline should send old DDs to Westbus hire (it's sister company). I am the only one thinking about this. There are plenty of blue Westbus double decks in the Kingston and Hampton areas, all seem to be recently painted with shiny silver Westbus name where blind box was. They operate many schools services to Hampton boys and LEH schools. Is it same company ? I think you have seen Westway completely separate company the Westway fleet always look stunning

I think he means VE. I know London United are due some Gemini 3. On a separate note SLE26 is refurbished featuring the non standard 'school' moquette. They are coded VH despite being the new face and continue from where the 116 VH fleet numbers finish. New style fronted Gemini 3 B5lh VH 53, 55 and 59 delivered so far destined for 94's apparently

Sorry to pour water on your "informed" source but the only requirement to meet DDA is on scheduled bus services, so the VA's and OA's will be ok to continue on the work they do, we currently have no plans to scrap them, unless they die a natural death!
The OA's have euro 4 engines already courtesy of the refurb Arriva did when they owned TOT.
the TA's that are at Selwyns will return in July after schools finish in Manchester as they will older than TfGM allow.
No no others are scheduled to join so will only number 6 unless specific requirements come up.
There will be further coaches joining from Selwyns 2 later this year and 2 in early 2016.

I imagine the SDEs will go into warm storage at NC whilst the company awaits a few overdue tender announcements which could possibly find a use for these buses. No space at NC now home to United Motorcoaches fleet likely to see off leased SD'es at Tolworth

NC is now home to United Motorcoaches operation so no room for bus routes Why are many councils nowadays so prejudiced against buses? The current site of Hounslow Garage is a good example of land use. It is near the main shopping area so is able to efficiently bring passengers to where they want to go. The buses then have a space where they can then turn around and take the passengers home. If the garage were to disappear then the amount of dead running to distant bases would not be good for the environment. Where would terminating buses for Hounslow then stand? The present garage has been on its site for years. I have never heard anyone in the area say that it is a terrible place to have a bus garage. As usual some town hall planner comes up with far fetched ideas without thinking through the repercussions for passengers. Hopefully as some people have already indicated on this thread it is not the actual bus garage that is threatened but adjacent land. Moving AV bus garage would be another example of the seeming going trend that subjugates the needs of passengers to the demands of other interest groups in our society. The stupid thing about it is that it is also a useful bus interchange, so it's not just a garage with lots of land... hopefully it's conjecture and they will come to their senses. Re design of the site or smartening it up would be good, there are bits of cladding missing at the side of the main garage building so it is looking a sorry state. But most of Hounslow East looks like that anyway It seems Hounslow are upset with the number of garages in the borough, there are more garages in Hounslow than any other borough - off the top of my head; Brentford, Hounslow, Stamford Brook, Hounslow Heath, Heathrow... so they are probably playing the 'environmental' card in trying to sell off land and turn it into housing. But on a serious note, where would LU move AV'S stuff to if they did try to sell off the land? Hounslow Heath is small, I guess NC if that is still in use for like the 281, 110, and a bit of a dead run for everything else... I guess TfL could pass a route or two to Arriva as there's bags of space at Heathrow...
