Anyone know if the private hire fleet will be reduced following loss of the 661 and 881 SDO routes from Hampton Court. cardinalbuses.co.uk/contract-wins/For those not familiar the new Operator is based in New Haw (Byfleet) and has some ex London double decks painted red No in fact the opposite has happened has been expanded, the prices on the Surrey schools were quite frankly ludicrous looking at the award figures. It will be interesting to see if Cardinal Buses doesn't go same way all other previous companies have trying to run contracts on a shoestring. The influx of coaches and National Express work will no doubt have more than made up for the fairly insignificant Surrey operation, there appears to have been a massive shift in the overall direction of this operation in recent months.

Richmond Council website has feature on this. Says proposal is 100 buses direct to Waterloo. Also non stop trains from Kempton Park. Buses to Osterley station for night tube (not been updated yet for postponed start) The A316 will be closed as well. All of this will happen this Saturday as it is a practice for transport solution. There are blue rail replacement bus signs between Twickenham and Kempton Park already up (with RWC in route number box) The RWC signs are up in Hounslow as well, following the 281 route (but may be different in Whitton etc). There are a whole set of buses being operated over several routes and with only 57,000 tickets sold for this weekends match should be loads of capacity and plenty of wasted cash!

Two more TAs appearing at TV today from FW in the shape of 213 and 215. The end of tridents at FW may be upon us soon - 8 left if you include TLA 3 and 4. SPs 17, 31 and 38 returning from their extended loans would release a further 3 perhaps. SP type training underway at TV will be a total of 16 SP's transferred in to replace TA's of which 10 have been sold to Selwyns Travel for new school contracts up north!

I saw the question above about whether a route could be double-decked soon. As some SPs were on route H98 yesterday, I think this route could be next in line. I considered trying to ride a refurbished DPS from the 701-06 batch on route 419 yesterday. However, I was concerned in case they ran other routes instead. In the event I later saw 3 of these on routes 72 & 272 instead. As it is, I have done refurbished DPSs on routes 265 & H9 with Transdev moquettes, which I prefer to RATP moquette anyway. What I do praise RATP for was that I rode route E3 then route 207, and found the OmniCity on route E3 more comfortable. If they have Transdev maquette on then they are not the latest refurb standards, which as you saw on the E3 SP has much better seating installed upon refurb
