It’s all kicking off at Anfield,Robinson went to complain to the linesman at halftime and claimed that he elbowed him in the throat.

From the dim and distant past I recall the 86 blinded to "Limehouse - Londoner" - assume that this refers to a long-gone pub - wonder if this is linked to the Burdett Road stand...? The Londoner at Limehouse was previously the Eastern Hotel which name also appeared on blinds of the day. The 86 and others which terminated there at one time did so by U-turning in the width of the carriageway in West India Dock Road. The Burdett Road stand was considerably enlarged during the 1980s iirc but the 86 beyond Stratford became increasingly unreliable and infrequent. The 395 was preceded by the P14 which used small Metroriders through the Rotherhithe Tunnel but even those would be too large for today's restrictions. Buses cannot pass through. It was never a busy route even when crew-worked RTLs (and latterly RTs)on the 82 were the offering. If that’s at the junction of Burdett Rd & the A13 for a short time in the 80s the 278 terminated there before it was withdrawn from east London.

Can remember when the 108 terminated at Clapton Pond using low height DDs(RLH)out of Dalston garage. Possibly you might mean 178? Think you’re right.

I’m old enough to remember that, also 500 & 600 numbers for trolley buses and 700 numbers for Greenline routes.

They’ve always had stepping back on the Victoria Line since opening.Sure it was originally envisioned for the Line to eventually follow the A23 to Croydon.

Just a suggestion here but for the past few months now becoming a 55 regular, mostly between Clapton and Tottenham Court Road, I have thought that this route is ridiculously long and impossible to get anywhere in the peak with the length of the route and traffic peak hour. It has managed so long from Leyton to Oxford Circus and now just 4 stops further to Walthamstow, but just like the 25 this route is unbearable. My suggestion was to swap the western ends of the 26 and 55 from Shoreditch: Retains a link all the way up to Cambridge Heath which imo is far enough for a journey west of Shoreditch 26 to Oxford Circus and 55 to Waterloo from Shoreditch Except for the traffic at Old Street Roundabout and Oxford Street, the 26 would replace the 55 on this section and take the longer end of the route as its shorter in the eastern end. 55 to go to Waterloo instead to replace the 26 as it would reinstate the existing 48 and to be slightly shorter Main point is improving reliability, both routes can be equal in length and get rid of bunching and one regular route and one that can take almost 2 hours between Clapton and Tottenham Court Road from 4:30pm peak Waterloo was the 55’s original terminus when the route first started running .

When Stagecoach first took over ELBG there was a suggestion to extend the 86 to Walthamstow Central via the 257 routeing.

47 & 48 have been merged into one route the 48 which runs hourly between Kettering & Wellingborough via Burton Latimer & Irtlingborough. There is no longer a bus route along Finedon High St,anyone living in that area now has to walk to the A6 to get a bus.
