Good news on the model front is that Northcord will be producing a model of both the diesel and hybrid versions of the Alexander Dennis E400MMC, in both standard and City format, one and two doors. If you're into the modern bus scene, this sounds like a model to have. Northcord models are generally very good, if pricey.

Going to save my pennies for any London variant.

Going to save my pennies for any London variant. Me too. Cannot wait for these models to be released. There is probably going to be an Abellio and Go-Ahead London one. I'd also expect to see an E200 MMC model out soon. Its also great to see Northcord back, I was wondering what ever happened to them, if they had gone under again or not but thankfully they're still going. Hopefully they wont cost £50 but if it does, it'll have to go on my Christmas wish list (as they're out at the end of this year I presume)

I would say about the only even slightly safe assumption, due to the lack of them elsewhere at the moment, is of an Arriva E400 MMC City. Personally, I'd like a Stagecoach one on some PD route or other. Northcord have also kept all their previous castings, and there are plans to release a few new models using these, too. Probably not until next year.

Any more news on these castings yet? These were never going to appear until at least 2018, but I understand Northcord have hit further difficulties, so there's no guarantee now that this model will ever appear. Will post if I hear more.

News emerging from Northcord is that they have finally announced their first 5 MMC models! They are the following: UKBUS6501 : Go-Ahead London (E400H) EH108 – YY66OZP January 2018 UKBUS6502 : National Express West Midlands 6126 – SN15LGV January 2018 UKBUS6503 : Stagecoach London 10347 – SN16OLO February 2018 UKBUS6504 : Stagecoach in Oxfordshire 10684 – SN66WHC February 2018 UKBUS6505 : Reading Buses 758 – YX64VRU April 2018 UKBUS6506 : First Bristol 33960 – SN65ZCU April 2018
The funny thing is that I now know the person at Go-Ahead London who is in charge of commissioning models for the model companies (Keith Wood), and he is also an enthusiast too. I'm sure he will be commissioning the GAL one, and I'll be sure to get my hands on it!

Can somebody please suggest to Mr Keith Wood to commission a bloody Olympus at long last? Every time I'm by a stand selling models you can't have me not ranting that NO models of this body are even existing. It's ridiculous after all these years.
Why can't we have a nice DOE on the 93 to North Cheam with the original colour scheme (the skirt) and dayglo blinds? 😭

Otherwise I'm sure we would see a DOE out there.

Apparently the EFE model was first delayed due to "uncertainties at East Lancs / Optare" (quoting from the Showbus website - I seem to remember this was to do with the then-planned integral version), before EFE had to put all new tooling on hold. I'm not sure if the Olympus was ever officially cancelled but with EFE going into administration and their subsequent takeover by Bachmann it's safe to assume it has been. There is always a possibility that Bachmann could eventually produce an Olympus once they begin making new tooling, but if so I suspect they would start over from scratch. They would also have a different view of the market and things have changed since 10 years ago so it's most likely that other types would be seen as more worthwhile to produce anyway.

Re. the EFE Olympus - Frank Joyce, former head of EFE before the Bachmann takeover, cancelled the Olympus casting in 2014ish.

I am probably going to restrict myself to the Reading Buses example.
Yardley Wood Bus Club are apparently going to sell the MMC models for £40, it is worth checking their website and pre-ordering them if the price looks good. You don't have to pay until you receive the model. I have used them before, very good service.
It's a shame the Olympus model was canned. I wonder if the Enviro400 City is in the pipeline?

I believe they should be producing models of the City. I really hope they also cast the E200 MMC’s as well as a few of the Euro V models, as Northcord only did two pre Euro V E200’s with the new front end but old style body. I much prefer the Euro V E200’s, so would really like to get a model of one if they were cast by NMC.. Now that January has come, I shall pre-order the GAL model, this was due out this month but Northcord usually release their models in Hong Kong first and then in the UK 6-8 weeks later so if I order it now it probably won’t be with me until March.
