Must say it is good to be back 👍 Yep. I had umpteen messages and E Mails from people trying to find out what was happening. Also interesting to note what other people get up to when a forum goes off line. Now to dare to finish composing the reply I was drafting when the screen went a funny colour and clause 25a appeared.

I've had questions too And the chaos ensuing was interesting - but shows how much of a great place this forum is and that people really care.

Great to see the Forum back as back up running as ever and as I've said earlier it will always be the King of Bus Discussion . When Forum was down at one point I had so much depression and anxiety it made me difficult go to sleep .

Ah it's great to back. I was having nightmares about my life without the Bus forum and was imagining what my life would be like if I didn't report a Turn and observation. Yes it's good to back. Now we need is ServerKing to come out with his newspaper jokes.

Also interesting to note what other people get up to when a forum goes off line. Music practice. Oh, and running. What else would I do? 😂 Good to see things as normal. Well done mod and admin team.

Yes welcome back! I too was shocked when the screen went greyish and a proboard reference to 'clause 25a' appeared. Their powers are draconian to say the least, no doubt a fear of being sued, references are made to reasons to terminate and the last line states "......or for no reason at all." Lets be careful out there(with what be type)

Had a very boring few days found myself not knowing what to do with myself at times especially on finding out the new tender results with nowhere to go see the shock , horror and excitement 😂 if it ever happens again where are we to go to find out information of what's happening is there a page on social media or a blog ?

Perhaps we could have a reciprocal arrangement with the other prominent London transport fora (District Dave, The LT Forum) for when the forum is down (preferably easy to find and publically accessible fora)?

If you’re on Facebook, following The Londoner page is possibly worthwhile - that turned out to be my main source of information.....
And as for others copying the format here, take it as a compliment; they obviously think it works well or they wouldn’t have copied it.

Perhaps we could have a reciprocal arrangement with the other prominent London transport fora (District Dave, The LT Forum) for when the forum is down (preferably easy to find and publically accessible fora)? I used to be an admin on District Dave and am still on good terms with the team there, so if the admins here want to set up some sort of agreement I’m happy to help facilitate that (or of course they can approach the staff there directly). Only trouble is if the issue were a Proboards one it would affect both - that has happened in the past when there was a fire in America that temporarily affected the building housing Proboard’s servers. Perhaps relying on a different format altogether, such as Facebook, is potentially a more resilient alternative.

I have qualms about Facebook etc as these require Facebook accounts and are not necessarily the first place people would look. I'd recommend the LT forum as it is not hosted by Proboards meaning that a problem with either host would not impact the other. Perhaps have a three-way deal could be done (I believe the LT Forum admin 'Deep Level' is a member of all three fora)? There could be a thread on each to report a complete loss of access/report sites being down.
