Why can’t the 393 become a double decker? I’ve seen the size of the road in Leighton Road between Kentish Town Station and Brecknock Road.

Why can’t the 316 bus also be double decker? I’ve seen it as a double decker before. Plus the bus is full when it comes from Shepherds Bush Station.

Due to resident complaints in North Kensington - they oppose having two double deck routes run along their roads. All 316s which have used DD's have terminated at North Kensington or Ladbroke Grove.

That's something you'll have to bring up with Royal Crescent residents as they object to DDs on 316 going to White City. Back when the route was at W, you had a chance of getting a DD run to North Kensington, as I once filmed. Video: youtu.be/frH7TI9IWGk

I think that the rail bridge near Kentish Town West arches, and double decks would have to move to the middle of the road to pass, which is unworkable every day with a bus every 12 minutes in each direction. This is similar to Barnes Bridge, which can have deckers run under it at night on route N22 but not during the day on routes 209/378/419.

I’m pretty sure that the 393 going under two low bridges is the reason why the 393 can’t have double deckers and the length of a double decker will be a problem as can’t have buses longer than 9.7m on the route.

It did have a part allocation of ENLs* (10.2m) under Arriva but, even so, most DDs nowadays are 10.3m or longer. *Metroline ordered 10.9m MMCs (those diverted to 112/316) which were too long, there are no 10.2m MMCs. The equivalent length was 10.5m, which was likely too long.

Yes, the main one is the 10'9 bridge on Leaside Road in Clapton.

112 must be double decker. The amount of people that hop on that bus from Brent Cross Shopping Centre to Ealing Broadway is insane Until trees on Madeley Road are preventing double deckers from going on the 112 until they get sorted out and chopped then the 112 will never get converted into double deck.

Could the trees that prevent the 465 being doubled decked be chopped down to allow the 465 to have double deckers?

Could the trees that prevent the 465 being doubled decked be chopped down to allow the 465 to have double deckers? Is the 465 busy enough to justify double deckers?
