Dell desktop PC (see picture). What is a reasonable price to pay to have the motherboard removed and a new one (which I already have ready) installed. I have been quoted £135 by one guy and £200 by another. Being unemployed, I genuinely cannot afford either. Is there any way to get it done for under £100? Attachment Deleted

Server King/DW535/Mr Benz might know I do not know but I would imagine it might be a bit hard getting it done for under £100 as the companies will charge you a high price whether you can or cannot afford it. If you are reasonably confident with doing it yourself, try but only if you know what you are doing

If you are reasonably confident with doing it yourself, try but only if you know what you are doing Sorry for the late reply... That Dell pictured is even older than the buses on the 318... circa 2005 as probably Pentium 4. It might be quad core processor in there but it is not worth the aggro to put a new mainboard in that, and you would do better looking on eBay or Gumtree for a replacement. Ex business HP machines are quite reasonable www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fast-HP-Desktop-PC-Computer-Windows-10-17-19-Monitor-WiFi-Office-500GB-SSD/173108602241?hash=item284e13a581:m:mKHaJxCqEUEm6G5E4iKAL-A For only £70 to 130, even with monitor and keyboard. Don't waste your time trying to fix such an obsolete machine, it will be a rip off if you do. Just replace it
