It's says it's a temporary change but may be made permanent subject to consultation.

In the days of sending RMs abroad to drum up tourism, they tended to be blinded for route 11 to demonstrate all the tourist places of interest it served. As attached, RM in San Francisco(LT Collection) Attachment Deleted

Walking around Finsbury Circus gives you a real reason for the decline of the eastern end of the 11.
The closure of Liverpool Street bus station means most people will be very lucky to find the next bus stop.
It would have been far better to divert to Bishopsgate.

And don’t forget the entire area seems like a construction zone at best. Either buildings coming up, being torn down, or incessant roadworks on the same stretch (when was London wall completely free in the past 7 years)? Just ridiculous

Well, I've a plan for the 11 if TfL are insistent that it goes no further west than Victoria. Instead of the 311 from Victoria to Oxford Circus, extend the 11, then you have a City of London to OC connection, albeit roundabout, and you could even change from a 25 at Bank, possibly within Hopper Fare availability time! It's less ridiculous than the 23/10 'idea' imo, and, crucially, keeps the Mayfair to Victoria link so foolishly abandoned by TfL a year ago.
