Was thinking maybe the long 66 - always seems very busy when I use it but not sure how many trips are local short hops. It could receive Get Your Kicks on Route 66 branding. I think routes 58, 69, 101 & 308 would be suited to branding. Elsewhere, I'd enjoy branding on routes 46, 72, 75, 83, 144, 280, 286, E2 & P13 for example. If we're talking Chuck Berry songs, then the 16 could be 'Sweet Little Sixteen': somehow think that's unlikely to happen. The 66 could have an alternative message too - Papa Was A Leyton Stone.

Meanwhile, route 50 could pay homage to a 70s programme and be branded Hawaii Five-0 Go North East call their route 50 Whey Aye Five-0 as evident halfway down this page. I even rode it to South Shields last June. www.gonortheast.co.uk/timesfares/

Might be re-enacted for the 65, though.

The X26 as already mentioned is the obvious one and maybe the new 403 contract from the same garage. It goes through some of the posher parts of Croydon and loadings are well down on what they once were. I think standards right across the fleet are in urgent need of some improvements though. I believe Barcelona have free WiFi that's city-wide, though not the strongest signal and not sure if theirs are fitted on local buses. Perhaps London's fleet could have theirs fitted as standard across some (more centrallised) or all of the TfL domain.

A few random suggestions. Metroline - 107, 307, A10, 295, future X140, future 278 Arriva - 313, future 301 RATP - 203, 265, 465, 216 Stagecoach - 53 (yes I know it's busy but AIUI there are lot of longer distance pax where comfort etc would be beneficial), 422 GAL - 170, 358, 246, 119 I've deliberately gone for some longer single deck routes with faster sections. Plenty of good comparator routes in deregulation to show what could be done. I've also concentrated on the more "well to do" areas / boroughs where there is more "competition" with the private car. It still needs to be said, though, that faster journey times and greater reliability are likely to be more effective in pulling in more punters than just swish buses. I like the 265 idea, maybe a new variation route - X265 from High Street Ken to Surbiton? Maybe a bit wacky, but here goes... X265 - RATP - TV and S START: Surbiton Station END:High Street Kensington Stopping at: Hook Junction Tolworth Broadway Coombe Lane West Roehampton Vale Asda Roehampton University Barnes Station Putney Pier Putney Bridge Station Parsons Green Station Fulham Broadway West Brompton Earls Court Any other stops/ideas?

I'd like to add the 205. It has a surprising amount of long distance passengers - people to eschew the tube for whatever reason included - who deserve a nicer bus. It would help attract more patronage and USB charging for the passengers who are on-board for some time would be nice.
The 113 is a good candidate I would agree.
I like the idea of the 139 given the roads it passes, particularly now its being advertised as a 'leisure route'.
