The 206 comes within wheezing distance of Willesden town centre without quite ever arriving on the High Road.
Not an 'area' as such but the 113 must count in missing the huge interchange/shopping centre at Brent Cross by a matter of a few hundred metres.
The 215 misses Chingford by a short distance on it's trip up to the Yardley Lane Estate.
In more recent times, the 97 and 108 in relation to Stratford 'Town Centre' merit a mention too.

Would the 315 with Tulse Hill count? It comes pretty close but turns onto York Hill Can't remmeber where(might have been here or on flickr),but I have seen a picture of an LDP on the 315 curtailing at the bottom of York Hill and showing Tulse Hill as the destination

Route 486 leaves from QE Hospital then to go via Repository Road but did not service Woolwich Town. so only 10 mins walking down!
Route 356 terminates at Bethlem Royal Hospital nearby but only five min walk to West Wickham High Street.
Route 386 pass twice in Blackheath? close enough! 386 Terminates in Blackheath Village (near Station) but it has to go via Greenwich first before return to Blackheath, Royal Standard.

The 201 doesn't enter the are known as Brixton but it get's very close and it's only a 5 min walk from Herne Hill to the edge of Brixton which is where Brixton Water Lane runs along.
The 137 & 417 runs along the boundary of the Brixton Hill area in not one but two different places - at the top of Brixton Hill at the A23/A205 junction and along King's Avenue. The 355 runs along the boundary along King's Avenue only.

I'd argue that Elmcourt Road is the end of West Norwood as the former fire station just down the road was known as West Norwood Fire Station and it's literally a 2 min walk from York Hill to Tulse Hill Station. Irrelevant fact here but York Hill is where I first lived as a kid

Does the 343/N343 count? It serves Brockley via Avignon Road and Frendsbury Road but it’s the west of it rather than the central parts like Brockley Station, Brockley Cross and Brockley Rise. Also 47, 188 and N199 which serve Rotherhithe Tunnel but not the whole Rotherhithe Peninsula and Rotherhithe Station. I didn't even realise part of the 343 goes within the boundary of Brockley, in which case it would indeed count. The 484 passes along Peckham Rye Common but not into the nearby main part of Peckham.

365 during the night. Serves as both the Dagenham (aside from the weekend 24 hour 145) and Rainham night bus. It’s like a 15 minute walk from South Street to Rainham Tesco and about 5-10 minutes to Dagenham. Also Hornchurch. It gets close at Stanley Road but turns into Abbs Cross Lane

- Route 1 serves the Bermondsey area, but not Bermondsey Station. - Route 122 serves Crofton Park but not Brockley Station, both locations in SE4. - Routes 21, 42, 53, 63, 136, 168, 172, 343, 363, 415 & 453 serve areas in SE17 (Walworth) but doesn't serve Walworth Road itself.

The 425 operates directly via Urswick Road between Clapton and Homerton, passing close to but missing out Hackney Central.
The 487 passes the end of Ealing Road in Alperton but doesn't serve the Station or the shopping area beyond. By sticking to Whitton Avenue (East & West) the 487 also by-passes Sudbury and Sudbury Hill and just misses the shops at Oldfield Circus.

Actually the 343 does serve the very northern bit of Walworth Road, between Heygate Street and the roundabout.

Another 356 one, serves Upper and Lower Sydenham and part of Sydenham Road, but doesn't serve the main shopping area. It's also pretty close to Dulwich as well (10 min walk or so from Sydenham Rise).
Route 63 terminates at Honor Oak - Forest Hill Tavern, but doesn't stop outside Honor Oak Park station, approx 10 mins walk. Routes 122, 171 and 172 are close to Honor Oak Park station, but a 5 min walk from Brockley Rise.
Routes 37 and 42 don't directly serve Dulwich Village. A 5/10 min walk from North Dulwich station. P4 doesn't serve West Dulwich station, but close enough.

Must admit in all the years I knew and used West Dulwich station I never considered the P4 as going anywhere near it - I guess it all depends on perceptions.

Indeed, although I'd probably get off the bus at Dulwich Picture Gallery and walk along Gallery Road instead of the stop at College Road by Dulwich College. Another one (at a stretch) is the P4 and 42 at North Dulwich Station to Herne Hill. A walk down Half Moon Lane. (Yes, I know the 37 goes there direct, but where's the fun in that!) Also the 202/363 for Sydenham Hill station. Get off at the Wells Park Road stop, then walk down Crescent Wood Road to the path that connects to the station on College Road. 450 is also a possibility, but not sure about the pedestrian connections from the Kingswood Estate?
