As of 0500 hours Saturday 19th January, Whipps Cross Roundabout will go live with a new road layout and a signalised junction. Waltham Forest will have traffic marshalls onsite to help familiarise road users with the new layout. The existing stops and stands on the roundabout will no longer be in use as the new buses only stand will also go live.

The new road layout was supposed to go live today according to a council freebie paper with the buses changing at the weekend. Obviously decided to do it all in one go instead.

I haven't got much to say but they seriously recked the borough and it goes to show that how money is wasted on crap.

Had some free time a couple nights ago so took the W19 and was in for a surprise. It wasn't my intention but I set eyes on the new bus stand at Whipps Cross, and why bother is my short answer. Stand capacity officially hasn't increased; you'd think there would be space for at least 3 buses to stand on the 56, but the cage can only comfortably fit two buses in. For such a high PVR route like the 56 & given the chance to create bigger stand space, it's such a disappointment that they didn't. The stand for the 357 also doesn't fill me with much hope for its future, with the route being separated from all the other Walthamstow-bound buses.

Also, the 357 Sunday service doesn't serve the new interchange at Whipps Cross but everything else does.

I noticed the eastbound stop mentions the 357's Sunday service, but obviously theory may differ from practise.
