Posting this here as there is no obvious section anywhere else on the Forum. For those who like subway systems and views from the front of trains then I can recommend a recently found Youtube Channel. It belongs to DJ Hammers. DJ Hammers youtube channelThere are some very nicely filmed videos from the front of subway trains showing some of the incredibly complex infrastructure that exists in New York. The video for the Line 7 Express from Flushing shows the immense scale of metal viaduct structures that exist on open air sections and also some of the open air flying junctions such as at Queensboro Plaza. Other videos show the tunnels with local and express lines side by side plus the very involved junction work. It's been a long while since I've been to New York but I've ridden a fair few sections of line in Queens, Manhatten and Brooklyn.

I was last in NYC in 2016 and seem to remember seeing them construct a new line in the Queens area. Queensboro Plaza was a two minute walk from where I stayed.

Riding their Path Train¹ from 33rd Street (Empire State Building) to Newark has the somewhat unique procedure of the train having to reverse the rest of the way after serving Hoboken, it originally built as a terminus station (like for example a westbound Piccadilly Line train going from Holborn to Aldwych then reversing to continue on to Covent Garden). One therefore would have to walk all the way to the other end of the Path train to view the rest of the journey. I always thought it a suprise the Path train hasn't been extended a few miles further on to Newark Airport, it being the 'Gatwick' of New York. ¹ - the only New York 'tube' line that runs into the neighbouring state of New Jersey

Similar age to London's C stock, the R42 made its farewell journey yesterday. These were reported to be the first trains to enter service with air conditioning. youtu.be/5cyEHL8ijhk
