Also, a mangled tape I made of the last broadcast of Radio Caroline in 1967, recorded by me in Somerset as it was then located off the Isle of Man. I imagine radio and music geeks across the world would be fascinated to hear that broadcast. It's the sort of thing that would be much cherished if it was digitised and made available online via Mixcloud or similar. That's not to put any pressure on your shoulders at all. Just that people would be keen to hear it. No different to me and others enjoying old editions of Top of the Pops or Kenny Everett's broadcasts from Capital Radio (some are online - he was such a good broadcaster).

I honestly don't believe it's recoverable, assuming the resources of NASA or whatever can't be directed at it. It was on cheap, thin tape and was horribly mangled when I last saw it about twenty years ago. The other tape I kept from my Minehead days might also be of interest to some in that I recorded a gig that a guy named Pete Ham, with whom I became friendly for a few weeks, and his group did. It was only years later that I realised Pete Ham had become quite famous with Badfinger.

Although none of us would have known this when you started the thread, it is quite a coincidence that you chose 1975 as the year to compare with 2019 @neilm8. We now know that 2019 would be the first year since 1975 that the country who owns Abellio would win the Eurovision Song Contest!
