Has been sold to the management team by RATP. Interesting development - I wonder why RATP has offloaded it?

Has been sold to the management team by RATP. Interesting development - I wonder why RATP has offloaded it? It’s a very isolated operation from the London business and ideal for this sort of local management. Nice to see actually. Maybe RATP will now seek to purchase some First operations.

Press release snippet from CEO of RATP Dev.
“Our decision to step down from our commercial bus operations in the Bournemouth deregulated sector pertains to our strategic focus on our franchise operations in London, together with our sightseeing and coach businesses in Bath, London and the North West”

A-ha - could RATP be eyeing up First's Oldham operations as a way of preparing for future franchising in Greater Manchester? They already have a presence in the North-West through ownership of Selwyn's of Runcorn, which operates TfGM-contracted route 129 (Middleton local service) and a number of TfGM-contracted school routes.
(I realise this is straying off-topic as the thread is about Yellow Buses).

Given that there will be a few hurdles along the way before bus franchising can come to Manchester, I now doubt RATP will buy First Oldham. I have had a change of heart since RATP divested Bournemouth Yellow Buses. RATP Selwyns also had a tender for routes 391/92 Stockport - Macclesfield in 2018-19 but lost these routes to Manchester Community Transport, part of HCT Group. RATP Selwyns stopped running a tendered route in Liverpool last July. I reckon they will not bid for route 129 next time, which could be snapped up by GNW, MCT or Stagecoach next time. Management buyouts are quite rare these days. I wonder whether it will eventually be taken over by another large operator? Stagecoach would not face any competition issues here. It could even provide Arriva, probably under new ownership by then, a toehold in south west England.

Megabus has teamed up with Yellow Buses to offer a new service from London Victoria to Bournemouth via Heathrow Airport, commencing on 21st May. Yellow Buses will provide the drivers for the service which will operate five times a day, with one journey extended to/from Weymouth. The service will feature a 23.30 departure from London aimed at theatregoers and football supporters. Through tickets will also be available for connecting Yellow Buses services to and from Christchurch and Wimborne.
Yellow Buses is no stranger to express coaching, having been a sub-contractor for National Express in the past.
