For quite a long time the busy 86 was supplemented by trolleybus 693, and then bus 193, between Chadwell Heath and Ilford, which then went 'round the corner' to Barking Broadway. The wires ended at Chadwell Heath, and the only initial extension of the 193 beyond there was on Saturday afternoons to Hornchurch Garage, to reflect the added pressure of Romford shoppers to the market on the 86. I won't go into all the variations beyond that, except to say that after a few years the 193 got extended on a daily basis to Upminster Park Estate, with the 86 cut back to Upminster Station. Then in 1982, on opo conversion, the 193 left its original stamping ground, probably never to return. That 'round the corner' link was highly regarded at one time by LT, but changing travel habits probably saw its demise. Could such a thing return, in the age of the EL routes?

First thread I have created here 86 runs from Stratford to Romford and is a very popular route, paralleling the TFL Rail line between Romford and Stratford, but it needs help, particularly towards Romford as it basically has do that stretch on its own from Ilford to Romford. 128 is an alternative between the two but the 86 is quicker. Also the 128 has 150 running parallel with it from Barkingside to Becontree Heath and from Becontree Heath 150's last stop is common with 5, 128 and 175 so you can continue your journey with these 3 routes. I believe there should be a second route running parallel with it between Ilford and Chadwell Heath, and I believe it should be 396, but done in a way that allows it to continually serve Newbury Park Station and keeps on going to King George Hospital. I would personally extend the 396 not from the king George end but from the Ilford part to chadwell Heath via 86 part it would be indirect route to king George hospital but it would assist the 86 at the current corridor and make it fully DD at all operation also help out at peak time at Newbury Park which is very busy. Then at the romford end extend the 368 to Romford station so it helps out the 86 at the other end I would say that its a more direct route to King George from Ilford via Chadwell Heath, I assume you mean turn left at the Tesco Barley Lane? What about a circular route would So Ilford to Ilford via A12, Barley Lane, High Rd Ilford.
Or another suggestion if the 25 was curtailed further back to Aldgate it could be extended further east - It has ran to Becontree / Seven Kings in the past.

It ran as far as Dagenham Ford's back in the day That was a separate peak hour service from Dagenham East Station, with a dedicated bus bearing special 'lazy' blinds, although it did run in service to and from its garage. There were Schedules Office reasons for running it as a 25, related to spreadover duties agreements.

I would solve the Seven Kings /86 problems, and I live there, so it's definitely a problem, with a new route. Thus; BARKINGSIDE -Fullwell Cross High Street Tanners Lane Horns Rd Eastern Ave Newbury Park Station Aldborough Rd Sth Cameron Rd Seven Kings Station High Rd Goodmayes CHADWELL HEATH Wangey Road.

I doubt it would, it links the areas to the stations but doesn't manage to link the major Town Centres of Romford or Ilford so people who are going there, which is the bulk of them are unlikely to make any change.
