Sorry got confused as I read this Taken from Wikipedia Staines is definitely outside of London - the same Wikipedia page mentions it's been part of Surrey since Middlesex was divided up between Greater London, Hertfordshire (Potters Bar) & Sunbury & Staines (Surrey) in 1965. The border between Surrey & Greater London (London Borough of Hounslow) is inbetween Lower Feltham & Ashford Spelthorne was going to go into London but the residents of the time complained so it went to Surrey instead. Many older residents aren’t happy about that either and would rather Middlesex had never been abolished. FWIW, if ever the GLA area was to expand in the future, Spelthorne may well be prime territory to be absorbed, imo

Speaking of number 10. I did find myself on High Street Kensington wondering how on earth I could get to Euston Station. Without changing bus or tube train. I realised this could have been possible with the 10. But now none existant. It mean sitting on Circle Line and Swapping Tube trains at Edgware Road. Although slower, you could have caught the Circle Line direct to Euston Square via Victoria and Liverpool Street. Whichever way you went on the Circle Line, you'd still have the Euston Square to Euston bit to navigate through some of the officially most polluting London traffic conditions.
