link to Ianvisits tweet Again at Bank, the blue hoarding is down on the corridor to the new moving walkways linking the Central and Northern Line. We must be mere weeks away from an opening.

A lot of press at the station, probably safe to say the new corridor to the central line will be open later today.

I used the new escalators last week and must say they are a big improvement on the small staircase up to the Northern Line. I do wonder if the old stairs and old escalators up towards the Central Line / Northern Line will close once the works are all complete.

From Platform level it looks like the Cannon Street entrance is close to completion. Can’t be much longer till it opens.

Passed through Bank station today via the old stairs / Escalators and noticed how bleak and run down that part of the station is now the new sections are open. It looks like works started to refresh parts but stalled several years ago.
Are there any plans to upgrade these parts of the station? I assume they will stay open as they allow access to the Waterloo and City Line.

I really hope they get around to tidying up the old parts of the station! They have the old corridors in a rather poor condition with bad lighting and lots of missing ceiling panels. Even the DLR platform have lots of panels missing where the advert boards used to be.

Not too long now until Arthur Street reopens, with the 344 returning to its LOR northbound via Southwark Bridge and the many routes in the area executing the Monument turn once again!

I wonder if they ever considered naming the new Bank station entrance as Monument instead?

I wonder if they ever considered naming the new Bank station entrance as Monument instead? Probably not, there's no way to access Monument station from the new entrance without going to Bank first.

Doesn't look like that will be happening! A consultation has just come out on the 344 which pretty much seals its fate

Doesn't look like that will be happening! A consultation has just come out on the 344 which pretty much seals its fate That's unfortunate if it's true. In addition to the 344 serving Southwark Bridge fully, the Monument turn can be used by all routes bar the 17 and 521.
The loss of Arthur Street being reopened is a hefty & significant operational loss to the bus network around Monument.
