A very interesting news clip of tubes and buses running on Christmas day with free travel If this was to be done now, it would need a good sponsor. Amazon’s Christmas gift to London???

I agree everything would be carrying fresh air if they did run on Christmas day there is hardly any point of running

I agree everything would be carrying fresh air if they did run on Christmas day there is hardly any point of running Indeed and it wouldn't be fair on the staff who will have to work. Obviously there are lots of people working today who don't have a choice including emergency service workers and nurses and we thank them for their service.

Fully agree we must not forget the emergency services not just on Christmas day but every day and the engineer's who are working hard on maintaining the railway today even though the system is closed

It's estimated that over a million people were working today in the UK and the RT service on the 430 was reportedly fully loaded and leaving people behind.

That is correct as I saw a pic of one of the RT's full, though really, outside of the emergency services where sadly there isn't anything that can be done due to how important they are, it's only people working by choice mainly. I don't believe that there are enough people to operate a transport system even if operating at half capacity

Many short-haul European flights are canned on Christmas Day.

And the same at Airports today (or yesterday now) Some airports were closed, such as London City, and Dublin was also closed on Christmas Day, even to long-haul. Many short-haul European flights are canned on Christmas Day. The only long haul flight from London city is the BA1 flight to New York. As this flight is business class only the demand wouldn't be there to opperate this service on christmas day. In fact this service doesn't run from the 13th December until the 5th January.
