I could quite conceivably see the 271 being extended to Brent Cross (or Golders Green and the 268 extended to Brent Cross) and the 210 axed with the 143 extended to Finsbury Park. It would also remove the allegedly problematical 271 stand in Highgate Village. That's a lot of changes just to remove a route from a stand - the easy solution is to simply extend the 271 to Highgate Wood to stand with the 234 rather than making wholesale changes that break links. The main purpose would be cutting costs, solving the stand problem would just be an added bonus.

Or, I know it's a slight pain but why not say that buses do not pick up at the stand then it wont be an unaccessible stop. Make the first stop on the main road.

At the expense of passengers - its in stark contrast to something you said on another thread in regards to TfL needing to attract passengers. Breaking links like this will highly likely have the opposite effect. The stand issue is the only problem here, not removing routes that are useful.

There was a post on here recently about a 10% drop in bus usage which means further cuts are pretty much inevitable unless TfL can attract more passengers or fares go up which will just lose more passengers and lead to even more cuts in the future.

Ok but even with the decline, they're still being used and still carry far more people than the tube if I'm not mistaken. I think people should be very careful about suggesting cutting routes that perhaps they don't know compared to local people hence why I don't make similar proposals for many North & Eastern routes and mainly keep to my own area.
