It's not the 160 that interests me should this be the case, but more so the 180. As you say the Stagecoach Drivers should be familiar with Enviro400s alongside any potential Arriva drivers that may TUPE over. However the 180s allocation at Go Ahead is WVL and would be an alien type to Stagecoach London. Being part existing I wonder if they'll just manage to muster enough spare Enviro400s from across the fleet to make the top up on the 180 while the new buses arrive. Or maybe route 178 could temporarily convert to WVL with the Enviro400s going to Stagecoach temporarily.

I don't think the 678 E400s will be used because the 678 will still need them however the Scanias could be a good shout as PD already have a decent sized fleet.

However you make a good point, could potentially keep the Enviro400s at PD too to oust some of the Scanias there later too.

All of the school extra Scanias are bound for Stagecoach operations oustide of London as they aren't modified to Euro 6 and they are currently undergoing the single door conversion, if they did modified them to Euro 6 already or there wasn't the need for all the TfL buses to be Euro 6 then I'm sure Stagecoach would have stored them for the 160/180 like they did with 269 Tridents a few years ago for the 474.

A creative alternative would be for Stagecoach to borrow RATP SPs for PD, except that they would probably need to keep these due to delay getting their own electric buses into service.

If you had to rate route 160 out of 10 what would it be? Wondering if I should give it a try, but looks really bland and traffic filled.

I’ll be honest with you, it’s a good route when everything is flowing well. I like the 160 however at times it can be like Marmite you either hate it or love it. When I was on the route all the time it was actually a relief to do another route occasionally because it is a nice change of scenery. There are many drivers at DT who don’t like the 160 and there are many that love the route. When I spoke to the Stagecoach instructor yesterday he was saying that not many drivers are volunteering to do the 160 because of the new camera mirror technology, I suspect though as more people do the route and word gets around then more drivers will do it.

Was speaking to the Instructor of 14141 doing 160 Route learning at Sidcup, mentioned the new vehicles may arrive late... I saw this 14141 pass me in Chislehurst at about 11.15 am! It looks biggest than the current Enviro200 on route 160. My little brother can't wait to ride on electronic buses.

I am not 100% if the same as 14141 had been crashed in Sidcup as two-person hurt. See the link... for local newsshopper.
