It had been expected that the last Scania Omnicitys at PD would be stood down but that hasn't happened yet .... Yeah would of thought they would be gone by now... wouldn't be surprised if the spare hybrids replaced the Diesel E400s on 422 Its possible they’ll hang onto the Scania’s as long as possible given they’re owned and all (diesel) E400’s are leased. Even though the Scania’s are more guzzly. They’re EuroVI too so it’s probably makes most sense to get the maximum life possible out of those Scania’s, and given that second hand demand for them seems pretty low.

Heard a rumour that 2 of the hybrids at PD will be going down to Bromley soon for the school route they won.

Wonder of these will be the ex-WH smart hybrids, which are already familiar at TB (rather than E40Hs)?

Thats a good shout but would stagecoach really put newer MMCs on the route when older hybrids are available?

I think they would, otherwise that is a whole new set of spares Stagecoach needs to purchase for TB, and at least engineer training, if not driver training ... they never got the Scanias last time out.

Ah that makes sense might possibly be 2 of them then since the cut will obviously enable them to be able to leave.

TL has one E400H so not sure that is a factor in Stagecoach's decision.

They may not be used on the school routes exclusively, more likely they would be added to a common pool.

The Scanias at PD are earmarked for withdrawal - they are the oldest deckers in the fleet and are non standard. Not sure what’s keeping them going (maybe refurbs for the Enviro contingent) but they won’t be staying

Not sure why PD needs so many buses - even outside of the Scanias, they have a number of spare Enviro 400’s that don’t seem to be needed Assuming all of the Scanias get withdrawn soon, and the Smart Hybrids return to WH, all of the other DDs are needed. Other than the 12reg on the 601/602, all of the E400s are needed for the 422. Right now, there is more than enough buses even taking into account the LED MMC’s & Scanias being allocated to absolutely nothing hence my original post

I was actually in the area yesterday doing the new 180 and I did see a few Stagecoach E400s on Amazon services so looks like they are for now

Stagecoach is only having one, for route 205 at BW (Bow).
