What's happening to the missing HV186? All the rest of former Stagecoach Wrightbus Gemini 3 have entered service but not yet HV186. It is not missing. HV186 has now transferred to [AD] it is in the garage being worked on. It was stored at another garage previously.
SW7 was also used yesterday on route 329.

We knew it was coming but still can't believe the the ALX400s are no more . Hopefully one gets preserved VLA57 is a good one The VLA's are still a favourite with many drivers at [DX] I managed to driver one earlier this year, I cannot remember which one it was, but they still have a lot of oomph especially with the kickdown. I really liked them on the 128 after Ilford and becontree heath they really had a good kick down. Even the ones that EC had wasn't bad. Out of interest what was your favourite not just at DX but in general?

I think it still may be the Leyland Titan, it may be a bit long in the tooth, but guess as it was the new bus, when I was younger, I would always have a soft spot for it. Driving them in service also was a dream.

Driving them in service also was a dream. Great buses, along with the M's & LT L's - couldn't fault anything about them as a passenger. Warm interior that cheered up a cold day, comfortable seats with good leg room and from an enthusiast view, the Gardener engine is a joy to listen to. Other little things I remember are the air pressure sounds that would go on for about 10-15 seconds and the amount of different handbrake noises in the T's & LT L's. Equally, really enjoyed riding the VC & NV class Volvo Citybus & Volvo Olympians as a kid though the stairs at the doors on the VC were like mountains

The reason I said that HV186 was missing is that it wasn't shown or listed on LVF but thank you for your reply message regarding the whereabouts of HV186.

Later years saw some of them suffer exhaust fumes coming into the cabin if you sat at the back. Voith converted ones on the 2 were good. I liked the original Titans on the 174 / 374, one of them had an experimental Voith box I liked the original DLAs (apart from DLA63 which was slow), DLA156 was a beast at LV on the W3 370 was a great route for thrash before VLAs took over

When it worked that lower deck heater under the stairs was good. It was annoying the lack of blower motor for the upper deck heating. I am struggling to remember the air pressure sounds. I remember many of the relays ticking on the fuseboard behind the drivers cab.

Amazing at that ex London Olympian in new Stagecoach moquette. Shame we never got to see them in London retrofitted like this.

Was going to post this the other week but seeing it’s just E200s I couldn’t be asked. It seems lockdown is getting to me but Arriva North West have acquired 11 of the former 393 ENLs. They’re numbered 2159-2169. Not even sure how they made it up the M6 lol.

This is the air brake system forcing moisture out of the pipes using a special dump valve to prevent any liquid in the air corroding the metal pipes. Every vehicle with air brakes does this from time to time It does also stop excess pressure in the system too
