The problem with the glass partitions on any bus is they're prone to rattles which sort of negates the higher quality aspect. The other option is to go like the newest Smart Hybrids at TL, which are fitted out sub super-mini entry level. As much as I love Stagecoach, the level of fixtures and fitting is good d*mn poor by modern standards. As for seating layout, they are on a par with the early centre staircases LFDDs. All new Enviro400 MMCs have exactly the same internal seating layout and the new Arriva E40Hs will have the exact same seating layout. It's due to the extended wheelchair space.

Maybe we need to look at these 14m tri-axle buses used on the continent if that is the best TfL can come up with ... not attractive to passengers.

I just hope Arriva keep up specifying those little extras like glass partitions around doors that make their buses feel slightly higher quality than other operators Coming from the East it's laughable that Arriva and higher quality are in the same sentence. They probably come up right at the bottom compared to Stagecoach, Go Ahead and Tower Transit who are all miles ahead. You always know that if you hear a completely off sounding bus approaching in the distance it's a 173 or 368. I am however aware Arriva further up North and down South, especially at Norwood do a good job at looking after their vehicles. Up North and Down South made me think of different parts of the UK, not London! bear in mind most Arriva London's fleet have been in busical chairs, so that there's a generous mixture of good and bad everywhere

I think the Arriva interior is wonderful, especially with the Ivory poles. It just makes the bus feel so open and less cluttered when compared to the GAL or Metroline interiors. I just hope Arriva keep up specifying those little extras like glass partitions around doors that make their buses feel slightly higher quality than other operators What glass partitions around the doors?

My excitement mainly comes from what the Arriva interior will look like on a MMC vehicle and a City vehicle. I'm hoping both batches of respective types feature the ivory poles. On another note, in terms of what operator has the best interior. It's between Abellio and Arriva for me. RATP's is great too. Not a fan of the current RATP interior, very bland & dull - the bubbles interior on the ADE's was lovely and bright. I agree with Arriva & Abellio but my current favourite one is the Tower Transit retro one - love the green handrails. Not many like it but I think Go-Ahead & Metroline ones are decent but no more than that & Stagecoach's one is as lovely as ever. The interior on the LT, ST, VHP & VHR's is dull, not helped by the dingy lighting but is better on other vehicles. Of course, none of these is 1980's LT interior which, for me, is still the best interior. I quite like the RATP one. The Metroline one is bright.

I was also a fan of the transdev interior the BT VLEs carried too. My favourite interiors currently are the Metroline, Stagecoach and Tower Transit interiors. Abellio and Arriva I find as decent - I preferred the original Arriva interior slightly more. Tower Transit's interior is especially good because of the variation, having green poles too, imo works well in the MVs especially. I just like the Metroline one because I've always been a fan of the blue interior, and have grown to like the blue/orange seats - something they stuck with from the beginning and something I've had on my local buses the whole time I've been alive . Go Aheads interiors I just like for being quite smart in general, across the Go Ahead fleets (Including Non TfL). I also actually quite like the "TfL" interior displayed in CT Plus, Sullivan and Uno Buses - way better than the LT and friends interiors.

Indeed, I hope we see more MMC orders from Arriva whether it be the standard E40Hs or the Smart Hybrids as well. It is on the strength of Arriva's interior and being present in several of the main cities outside London that Arriva are so high in my London bus rankings, no 3 in fact.
I am happy for everyone who likes Tower Transit interiors. When I rode refurb DNH / VN and indigenous WV in November, the WV had my least favourite London bus interior for some time - even worse than the VHR on route 183 in 2017.
