Congrats to Norwood for winning the 13... I was tiring of Tower Transit with the route though it's a bit of a trek 13 HV's out of 319's allocation will go to N I think he was making a good-hearted joke.... not entirely sure though - will get back to you on that one

Never really understood why those and the 59-reg Ts were selected for refurbishment ... would be very surprised if any of them remain operational come end of August 2022 tender changes whatever the results.

The Volvo Olympians were used on the 403 at CN under Arriva as well

That was one option I had considered, but thought DT keeping the HVs and sending DWs to TC was the most likely. As someone that likes variety rather than standardisation, you won't hear me complaining. Maybe with the Croydon tenders coming up, and given hopefully Arriva have some idea how central London bus changes will affect their fleet, this may indicate further HVs could be heading this way if they are successful in gaining contracts ... then again ... could mean nothing.

Still not unhappy, something different to see pounding the streets of Croydon, other than on the 50 ... and maybe 468 in future.

DW542-554 + HV49-56 is 21 The HVs due to be released are 11reg, while the DWs on the 144/401 are 61reg, so more or less the same age. The 466 was also awarded on the basis of diesels, so makes sense to use DWs/Ts there which are already common at TC. With Arriva's HVs, I think they should have simply swapped the on-paper batches between the 301 and 335. The older 11reg would have been fine for the 301, which was awarded on the basis of using similarly-aged 61reg DWs. While the newer 62reg would likely be compliant for a new contract on the 335.
