Took a ride on the SL1 from Walthamstow to North Finchley this afternoon.
Reasonable journey but for the prolonged driver change at AD and slow traffic in the North Middlesex Hospital area.

I can’t find the conversation about it . Arriva didn’t bid for the 325 but was it ever said whether they actually bid for the 175/150 as they would’ve had to put a bid in at a similar time to the 325s bid, prior to the award of the SL route they are running currently from DX. The company was not going to initially bid for the 150 and 175 for reasons I cannot disclose.

So I assume they didn’t because bids for the 150/175 would have had to be in before the SL2 was announced.

Still no news on type training for the ES at Thornton Heath. Probably news will be released in the new year maybe, no idea what is going on.

Meanwhile at TC, there appears to be two SW’s still parked at the Napier Road entrance which are just about visible from the train.

Are there any plans with the SWs, and why have they suddenly stopped working the 312? I imagine they'll eventually either be sent elsewhere in the country or are being prepped for a new contract. We'll see though.

I guess just because TC have enough other buses for the 312 and they've just been left at TC awaiting further use, whatever that might be.

I never really understood the logic of sending them over for the 312. They could not withdraw any buses as the single decks would be required for the 312 extension. What has happened to them since makes the original move even harder to understand. Wondering where HA15-18 are at present!

I might be wrong but I thought some modifications were done on the EMC's and the SW's were there as temporary cover?

The EMCs were supposed to be getting battery replacements to help with the range for the 312 extension, the SWs came in to help with that process, not sure if any were done as they weren't really off the road, most were still out alongside the SWs so it was almost a pointless exercise.

Expensive battery replacements for something that may only have two years left in service ... who was paying for this?

They went South for additional buses to be used on rail replacement as due to the smaller pvr at weekends now due to so many routes cut back. There was not as buses available.

I don't know if is just me, I've noticed how terrible Tottenham AR Gemini 3 buses have gotten. The buses have flat batteries, and some can't climb up the Hill.
