I wonder if Arriva think the DWs might have a better future/sell for more out of London and want to remove them sooner. My take on it is ... if it is 61-reg Ts that are due to move ... is that Arriva have accepted the HVs arrival at GY will be delayed, and are replacing the oldest buses in the fleet in the hope that GY can successfully fit power blinds (so they don't screw up or rip) and thus blind presentation at GY improves. GY have already fitted Powerblinds, so fitting them to the Ts shouldn't be a problem

Blind displays on 66 & 370 arent ever a problem only 103 & occanically 248. Even then LTs also have faulty blinds so wont be surprised if them HVs suffer the same thing too

For instance Arriva North East's ones are 59 plate. Aside from DW501 which should come to AR and a T goes to GY, I couldn't see them selling on worn out buses to the Provinces. Even Tunbridge Wells the nearest neighbour has 61 plate former Northwest DB300s. And they are buying new E400s for Gillingham. Some of them could be engine spares for ANE, those buses on the 308 and Express route to Alnwick are hammered (having seen them on recent jaunts to Newcastle) There are independents who may want them. I've seen Yorkshire Buses I think they were called, thrashing one of the former ex 144 2 series DWs on a YouTube video If the Ts moving will help ES's go on the 279, I'm all for it I'd love to see an electric decker (apart from the Metrodecker) with a lower rear window They arent all that old tbf and Gemini 2’s in general are pretty popular nationwide so id be surprised if majority of them got scrapped. Theyre also in pretty decent shape so I imagine theyd do well elsewhere. Could see a few staying put with Arriva in the provincal operationd too as some of the former AR LJ11s went to Tunbridge Wells. All depends if Arriva finds value in keeping them!

GY have already fitted Powerblinds, so fitting them to the Ts shouldn't be a problem I have noticed though they do struggle on blinds alot more for the LTs than ENLs. That being said theres more LTs in the garage with only two ENLs

Thought the 66 was getting hybrids? I think it has been said that the Ts will be replacing the DWs since they are old and unreliable. I find they are more reliable. Just not much been spent on them as many of the inner garages budgets. They have done well. [GY] would need 2-3 buses more because of the 370 going to be a high frequency route next month.

You do realise the process for installing smart blinds is very much similar. Only additional difference is, that once installed, the blind control unit is then programmed with a laptop directly or plugged in a pre-programmed USB stick to upload into it. It is simple and EVERY Arriva London garage has the software.

I think it has been said that the Ts will be replacing the DWs since they are old and unreliable. I find they are more reliable. Just not much been spent on them as many of the inner garages budgets. They have done well. [GY] would need 2-3 buses more because of the 370 going to be a high frequency route next month. Only 1 because 66s PVR decreased from 15 to 14. 370s PVR is increasing from 11 to 13. They already got a bus from the 66 so 1 more bus.

T220 More to follow from what a member of GY was saying, the 66s allocation (at very least) should on paper be Ts so that’s around 14 Ts at least.

The T on the 370 didn’t last long, taken out at Corbets Tay, now a 30 minute gap in the service towards Mercury Gardens, it was supposed to be at Upminster 5 minutes ago and stopped tracking on LVF I assume it’s been taken out anyways, Upminster 370 stop towards Romford is packed, little do they know they have another 10 minute wait since the T has been removed without cover. I’d imagine whatever is replacing it is starting from Mercury Gardens.
