Will the N279 still be LT operated? I see elsewhere the route is due to go ES eventually. Will it be cross linked to any other route?

Quite surprised something along these lines hasn't happened sooner. Nice to see them filling SF garage back up again. I agree, certainly makes sense for the 19 to be run from a garage slightly closer. I'm surprised Arriva managed to undercut the competition when bidding from BN/AR, when garages like QB or HT are far better located. Also is EC still planned to be redeveloped in the future? Maybe this is partly why Arriva are scaling down operations there? Tottenham or Stamford Hill are perfect places because in the early morning which is when all buses leave the garage, light running takes about 12 minutes. After about 8am all buses are on the road and drivers sign on from Finsbury Park instead.

Will be interesting to see what buses the N279 will use when it moves over to E? It cannot use the Diesels due to the Central ULEZ so I am assuming it will be LTs from the 313/349? It should use ESs from 279 Most likely LTs. If the ESs are not in service by then that is the only option. In addition the 307 still has not fully converted yet…

With Arriva having recently lost route 242, I wonder whether route 158 could be reallocated to AR. part/all of route 149 to SF and part/all of route 254 to CT? Why would you suggest to move a route into AR when the capacity is needed for 243 & 341 Electrical infrastructure. It may not happen now but it could happen by the time 158's new contract begins in early 2026 or so Arriva hope. I always thought that the 158 would not get new electrics in its next contract as I suspected there was no short term plan to electrify Edmonton. Now I think with this update and it being in the same tranche as 123, I am less confident. They almost have to put a joint bid operating from AR and figure out what to do with space later. Although, they would need to detail what the plans are in the bid as I do recall a previous 158 bid that was rejected as TfL did not believe that the bidder had sufficient capacity at the proposed garage. I assume this means the 158 keeps its refurbished HVs unless they go and get replaced by some DWs but that will be known by July I guess.

So does that mean at times the 158 will be operatored out of AR like the 157 used to do on Sundays from TH? No, the same way how Ash Grove after was an outstation to [CT] in the past year.

A satellite is in effect an outstation but we shall see. When the was 99 operated from Manor Road it was decided to run it from there for 7 days as it was more like problems would occur Monday morning starting buses up. I think Goat Road is the same. I assumed before the 80 moved in that the 280 would simply run with buses off the 44, 57, 131 on a Sunday. I think AL might struggle to run the 280 from AL on a Sunday. I am surprised the 80 doesn't run fully from A on Sundays though, given its frequency is as good as halved, so its electric allocation at A would be nearly enough to operate the route with.

So in effect some drivers are GM based now and they wouldn't have any work on a Sunday if the 80 and 280 worked out of A and AL respectively on Sundays.

A stab in the dark here but I assume with the N279 moving to Enfield HV201-206 will end up at Wood Green to displace the last of the T buses on the W3

279 does anyone know when the Electroliners for the 279 are likely to be delivered?

279 does anyone know when the Electroliners for the 279 are likely to be delivered? The estimated time according to the Wikipedia page is around Spring 2024 for when 279s buses will be introduced but we haven't heard anything from Wright or Arriva regarding when the service of the buses will start. Whenever 307 converts fully within the next few weeks will determine whenever the new 279 buses will be out since the works are finished at E.
