This was actually predicted multiple times, given AR's love for Volvo buses, it makes sense why they wanted to introduce the type to London! I think they will perform perfect on the two routes, can't wait to see them next year! I think DD BZLs will look fantastic with the Arriva interior

I think DD BZLs will look fantastic with the Arriva interior 100% agreeing with you, this also reminds me that it's expected that future Metroline electrics will have wooden flooring, I personally think it will look awful with the interior..

The odd unsymmetrical interior where you have reverse facing seats on one-side only is a bit odd too.

Personally I think the black lines on the front only look weird when there is nothing else at the front of the vehicle. If Arriva put their logo on the front of the BZL, I think it will complete the look and look fine, unless they go without the black like the 276 examples, and decide whether they would like to brand them or not.

It's been mentioned that the 113's WDE batch (currently being delivered) have wooden flooring. Perhaps the 228/316 BZLs do too? I personally think the wooden flooring would look fine with Metroline's moquette and handrail colours - but ideally should reduce the blue interior panels to have more grey. Would probably look fine on BDEs which have some interior panels grey as standard, but could clash on WDEs/BZLs. Ideally should basically use the current Stagecoach London interior, but with Metroline's blue moquette instead of the red TFL one. The same applies to Arriva too to an extent, I'm not sure the turqoise interior panels work with the wooden flooring, either use grey interior panels or switch the floor to grey wood-effect (like Go Ahead and RATP's high spec interiors). Arriva should also ideally go back to using white handrails for all types (rather than yellow on SDs) - the interior on the 377's EMNs clashes a bit.

I did not expect that from Arriva but I’m glad they’re having a variety of EV DDs. I’m gonna be in Tottenham in 2 weeks so that’s even better. We’ll have a mix of the BZL from 243 & 341 and Electroliners from the 279

It could free up DWs to go to the 123, and release HVs elsewhere if needed

Volvos are not surprising as there are many Volvo Hybrids. I expect the 41 will get the same too.

Wow I didn’t expect that. Strangely no mention of 41 🤔 They are long vehicles (same length as the BYD), are there any areas on the 41 that could have issues with vehicles this length? Having done the route end to end Archway to Tottenham nothing immediate springs to mind I reckon the fleet code of these will either be EV (apt 😂) or EB (for Electric Volvo, or Electric BZL) I don't know what the 41 is like now especially in crouch end and West Green Road nearer Seven Sisters but when I did the 41 those areas with a DW were extremely tight just trying to get into gaps. My wife said doing the 91s with LTs in Crouch End at times was a complete nightmare aswell because on the weekends/evenings when everyone parks where they like, honestly it was a absolute pain the neck.

If that refers to first part of post then, no real evidence behind it but from experience using the different types, the BZL feels like it will use a lot of energy to get up to the speeds required for the constant fast section. It looks and feels massive and not aerodynamically that good. The 113 seems to be doing fine which would be a comparison route to 34/SL1 with the Electroliner although in fairness there aren't many BZLs around to know how well it would do. Would you take the risk? You might end up having to need extra spares as mentioned in the Stagecoach thread that the 277 is getting a charging spare and the 58/D7 are kinder on the batteries, so sounds like the route type and/or schedule can have an impact on the ability to the run the route efficiently with electrics. If it refers to second part, Superloop is another 'mode' and it makes sense that it has a unique interior to normal buses. Whether matching the colour of the route i.e. red for SL1 or a standardised colour for all SL routes.
