Not being funny to anyone curious but it was only announced on Friday the 196 & SL6. A number of ESs have been stored at N for a while now because there is space to store them. Not being harsh to anyone please think before asking questions. I could have added this to my post but it is quite obvious they are not here for anything to do with the announcement on Friday. ES85-160 are for TH I'm guessing on paper the TH 2024 ES batch will be allocated as follows; Route 689 = ES85 Route 50 = ES86-102 Route 194 = ES103-118 Route 250/N250 = ES119-142 Route 289 = ES143-159 Route 663 = ES160 I have provisionally added these fleet codes to my New Buses On Order list.

Are we sure that route 663's bus is not part of this batch of ES142-160? Because that batch is a batch of 19 buses; 17 buses for route 289 (PVR 15), 1 bus for route 689 (PVR 1) and 1 bus for route 663 (PVR 1).

Regarding route 663, I do think it's allocated bus is part of the batch of ES142-160 because that will become a Arriva gain in September, it wouldn't surprise me if that route is electric from day one using a vehicle from this batch. I have nominated ES160 as the likely allocated ES vehicle to the route . We will have to wait for more facts emerge I assume.

ES85-160 are for TH Not forgetting ES161 for the 663 ES160 is the last of the batch that I am aware of which was quoted as 76. So 84+76=160

“Norwood” is terrible to use as a blind because of how vast the areas with Norwood in their name are due to it covering the old North Wood which is where the name Norwood came from. I’ve never liked the “West Norwood” blind either but it’s certainly better. I don’t like West Norwood, Bus Garage because usually, bus garage as a qualifier tends to have the garage name included - I’d much prefer Norwood Bus Garage (no qualifier) or a return to the old blind buses used to show which was simply Norwood Garage. No one refers to N as West Norwood Garage, locally it’s always been known as Norwood Garage despite there being no such in the area as Norwood apart from the main road If you include ‘Bus Garage’ in the blind, I think it’s necessary to have ‘West Norwood’ as that’s the area it’s in, and not everyone who uses the route is a local. It’s like how buses terminating at TL or E don’t just simply Catford Bus Garage or Enfield Bus Garage 349 buses have "Ponders End - ENFIELD BUS GARAGE" IIRC... a lot of desinations for 192, 329 etc are simply "Enfield" apart from the 231 to Enfield Chase. The buses on the 2 used to have "Norwood Garage" which is quite self explanatory Tottenham don't like to mention their garage and just list the "TOWN HALL"

That isn't the same as Norwood Garage which is not in a completely separate area, just the area has a slightly different name. Not everyone is local as you say but even then, I've never heard non locals call it West Norwood Garage either - Norwood Bus Garage is my preferred destination, is a known landmark & destination by locals and by non locals, something very easy to look up or reference. The same was for Clapton garage, which is technically in Hackney Central. Buses used to have Hackney Central 'Clapton Bus Garage'

I guess Enfield Garage would give the impression it reaches Enfield as opposed to Ponders End.

A word on The lesser spotted 76 at Waterloo. Sad to say but the level of service to Waterloo is absymal since Arriva gained the route. My journeys from Dalston are regularly cut short at Aldwych and its laughable when it reaches the Strand that the inevitable final destination of this bus has changed will ring from the tannoy.. Yes I can access buses from there to waterloo but once settled on a bus you expect to reach your intended destination and its frustrating how often I have to change now. There was never this level of stopping and changing when Go Ahead NP ran the service and the 76 is contracted to finish at Lower Marsh. Pull your finger out Arriva.
