217s PVR is still 11 right? Normally yes for a weekday, but currently no as the PVR is currently 8 with the timetable and frequency right now especially the 17/18 mins headway is only there as that is the maximum number of buses/drivers they got for the 217 in the meantime. Meanwhile the latest running schedules for the 217 under Arriva shows that it is running out of EC with AR & AD drivers covering the route so I would assume the buses for the 217 are being parked at EC which is now just an outstation for the 158 as the 259 has now moved out to AR.

I remember the Antiques Roadshow, lol... DLA145 having the ramp kicked or encouraged in after the driver deployed it and it wouldn't go back in, to DLA12 at less than walking pace to climb the hill to Ally Pally The T's have served well, good to see T208 and 236 back in service, on the 217. WN Ts are fairly quick so will be fine on the 217 as well T236 is on the 279. It logged in as iBus test... T161 is the latest from South London to appear. There's cameo appearances from all manner of vehicles today

I assume AR gets very busy with the comings and goings of at least 3 24 hour routes, finding space for the 259 LTs, parking for the 318 etc... its easier to utilise the extra space at EC, it will be easy for both AD and AR drivers to reach. Totally forgot about the chargers, I guess that's underway?

There are also a few WN duties/reliefs A true team effort by Arriva London North for the sudden route 217 takeover. As the restored timetable for route 217 is implemented on Saturday 24th August, I wish them well. Interesting to hear that route 217 is being housed at Edmonton now.

Have finally got the opportunity to drive a refurbished HV283 with LED blinds. I have to say I am not impressed with the layout of how they are programmed everything is scrambled up rather than grouped together per route like the McKenna smart blinds I have to say this is a step backwards. It is like looking for a needle in a haystack to find the correct destination. In addition the reason why “Norwood” is displayed for Route 2 is because it programmed right below Marylebone and “West Norwood” is right at the end of the list… It also has Norwood & Norwood, Crown Point for the 249

Nothings wrong with it as it accurately describes the terminus but TfL decided to change it a number of years ago to West Norwood which is rather vague given the area is more than just around the garage or even along the high street. "Norwood" doesn't exist and "Norwood, Crown Point" is incorrect as Crown Point is in Upper Norwood where Knights Hill, Crown Dale, Crown Lane & Beulah Hill all meet

Coincidently had to use 279 today to get back from Waltham Cross after my 217 trip (people who follow my posts will know why). Not sure if I got lucky, but driver floored it until he caught up with another 279 in front. Not the biggest LT fan, but much rather run into those as opposed to an hoovering T, which I often spot when in Manor House. Nah, I'd still take a T every time, even a dreadful one over a LT, especially in this weather The one thing though I'll say about routes that have LT's is I noticed they tend to have either drivers or a schedule that are a bit quicker or have a less padded schedule. Think looking back at my previous posts I fell into the trap of lowbar decision making in the moment. While there is an difference of opinion, I guess can at least say both options aren't nice and hopefully the nicer stuff will arrive sooner rather than later.

When the Ts were new around 2012 they were nice buses to travel on. Heck I remembered when the clapped out DLAs were on the W3 before it's Ts came in and man did they struggle to get around Ally Pally on those hills. Especially the S-Reg ones I had to hope and pray the engine didn't cut out once we reached the top 😂😂 I would well believe that. Given that those Ts are 12+ years old and some workouts in Enfield, they would sound like this. Not much memories of other clapped out Arriva stuff in my area (as they fairly quickly transfered about). Does remind me of 09 reg Metroline TEs at PB and some 59 regs having enough of life though. On an positive note, tempted to try the ex-WN Ts on 217 if I revisit the route again. Got unfinished business on the route due to it's potential.

Just one non EV (HA23) out on the 64. Quite a few ES are unfit, one is on the pit as it's suspension needs fixing. Once that happens, HA23 will be swapped out
