This is also now the 3rd ADL order for the 196 with 3 different operators. In addition very interesting variety of EVs now indeed 5 DD different types and so far 2 SD types. Interesting what will be ordered for TC Routes and the 41/N41 that remains. I was going to mention jury’s out on what TC is going to get, it could literally be anything now 😂😂 because it’s a large order for the garage I think there could be two types with their recent diversification And I knew it would be a matter of time before the ET jokes flooded in 🤣 Personally I’d love to see a split order between Wright and ADL for the TC routes. If history’s anything to go by though, TC have generally preferred ordering ADL products for new buses, with their last new Wright order being in 2003 (DW1-34 for routes 412 and 194) so if Arriva have ordered a batch of E400EV’s for Norwood then I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see TC gain some, if not have all of the 60, 405, 466 and SL5 get them.

BD11s for double deckers and Kites for single decks I wonder? I suspect the BD11s and its (advertised) high range would come in very handy for routes like the 60 and 466 with long, intensive cycles and no efficient way of rotating buses.

The new E400EV and Electroliner has just as good a range however, so I don’t think that makes much of a difference now.

Nah I would put a considerable amount of money on it being ‘ET’ - they’ve always used T for their regular ADL E400 integral vehicles* (presumably for when they were known as Tridents back in the day and then it stuck), Ts and HTs. So ET would make sense for electrics *except for when they used HA/EA for the special E400 City spin off variant lol at ET, ET phone home Historically you would say ET1+ would be the likely sequence. However, the last 2 codes, 3 if you include the Metrocities, have been about the model rather than the make, so not ruling out EE1+ These are likely to be the Arriva deckers I see most ... so hoping I like them when they arrive.

As someone that likes variety I hope you are correct. Personally can't see it myself, and expect the order to be one supplier. If it is split, expect it to be a single deck/double deck split. As someone who generally has a preference for Wright vehicles, half of me wants Streetdecks, but then with TH already having a large ES population, the half that loves variety wants something else for Arriva in Croydon. One thing I am reasonably confident on, but is by no means certain, well decker wise at least, TC will not get a vehicle numbered 1. South London will have EA1 and E400EV 1 (plus EKL1), whilst North London will have ES1, EZ1 and BD11 1 (plus EMN1). Maybe they will get vehicle 1 for the single deck, then each of the London South garages will have a vehicle numbered 1.

Arriva have ordered 30 ADL Enviro400EVs for routes 196 and SL6, as per LOTS. Wow, was expecting more Electroliners here, great news! Funny enough I wasnt expecting them but I was expecting the BZL.

Same here, but purely as I was expecting them to be announced along with the 41 order. I also thought that the AD routes would be getting StreetDecks. Seems I am not very good at predicting the types of vehicles to be ordered! Must add new crystal ball to my Xmas list!

That's interesting. Finally another operator have taken the plunge with the E400EV. Yeah. Hopefully we get to have those up north London. Sixty-six BYD BD11s are said to be on order for routes 34, 141 and SL1

Next year is going to be interesting with Arrivas new buses. Especially the BZLs, which is great because I’m local to AR I have lost track so pls correct me. The Hybrids from AR are going to DX? Or is that the HVs from AD? I think the AR hybrids were earmarked for the GY routes but that can change

I think the AR hybrids were earmarked for the GY routes but that can change Would make sense for the younger AR ones to go to the longer contracts at GY. The 243 and 341 would largely cover the 66, 103, 370.

The only confirmed route to be getting HVs is the 66 at present from a LOTS update but a batch hasn’t been established. It has been assumed the rest of the routes at GY will also recieve HVs but has not been confirmed but is likely. Just to clarify for those who are unaware and have taken speculation as facts we do not have confirmation yet on what will be the hybrid allocation for routes 370, 103, 175 & 150 (From GY/DX) it has been assumed HVs.
