Well there's been a citymapper bus so I think that's entirely possible.

Thames Clippers is operating a "preview" service from Gravesend and Tilbury to North Greenwich and London Bridge on Thursday 17th and Saturday 19th February. The service, which must be booked in advance, will depart Gravesend Pier at 09.45 and Tilbury Pier at 10.00, arriving North Greenwich Pier at 10.40 and London Bridge City Pier at 11.00. The boat returns from London Bridge at 16.00 and North Greenwich at 16.15. Singla and day return fares are available, as well as an "All Day" ticket which will give unlimited travel on all Thames Clipper services in London. There is a 50% discount for holders of Freedom Passes and ENCTS passes. www.thamesclippers.com/whats-on-and-offers/gravesend-tilbury-leisure-tripsSo why "preview"? Gravesham Borough Council has agreed in principle to sell Gravesend Pier, the oldest surviving cast-iron pier in the world, to Thames Clippers. The terms of the sale include continued public access to the pier and use of the pontoon by the Tilbury Ferry. At the same time Thames Clippers have ordered two new boats, these are of a hybrid design that allows the boats to operate entirely on battery power within Central London. Outside Central London the boats will be biofuel-powered, this will also charge the batteries for the Central London section. The new boats are being built by Wight Shipyards on the Isle of Wight and are expected to arrive in Autumn 2022 and Spring 2023. While it has not been stated explicitly that these are for a new Gravesend service, the coincidence is remarkable.

Let's hope all goes well and who knows could see some new Piers added at Purfleet , Thamesmead and Barking Riverside and even an extension right up to Southend and Leysdown (Wishful thinking) but in all seriousness would be good to have an attractively priced "eco friendly" alternative way to travel into London especially from Essex as there is literally no alternatives and now Kent as the Commuter coaches from the Medway and Gravesend have now all ceased good luck to them hope it all works out .
