(and of course finding loads of available drivers at short notice) Operators managed to find drivers and vehicles before, although admittedly there wasn't the EuroVI issue then. And the March 8th date for the return of schools was flagged up some time ago. Expect some interesting workings!

Current loadings look quite reasonable during peak hours.

The 314 & 336 were school priority extras. I remember seeing them occasionally. Correct for the 428 as it is now fully double decker

The R8’s school extra was quietly dropped after the October half term and with good reason, there was no point whatsoever in running it if it was only running between Orpington Station and the garage. The 684 provided a more direct route from Charles Darwin School into Orpington, but there could have at least been an extra bus provided to serve Downe and Jail Lane

I think a new comprehensive school at Blackheath is opening on the 386. That makes three plus a 6th form college. Only supposed to be 11 on the bus. Last time around buses were running completely full with standees front to back.

Last time around buses were running completely full with standees front to back. "School Priority" designated journeys can operate at full capacity, whether they are extras or not. Not signed as such and the buses were carrying adults and children. It is not a high frequency route and covers a lot of roads not served by other routes.
