MP Travel to take on Arriva NW route commercially

MP Travel of Warrington is to take on Arriva North West X1 service between Halton Hospital, Runcorn and Liverpool One on a commercial basis from Monday 25th January.
MP Travel had been operating the route under contract to Arriva North West since Monday 19th October 2020, after the route had been dropped due to high levels of staff absence due to sickness and self-isolating. The same 40-minute frequency will be retained; however the change to commercial operation does mean that Arriva tickets will no longer be valid for travel.
The route serves all stops in Halton, but is limited-stop within Merseyside. Merseytravel tickets will be valid for journeys within Merseyside. MP has their own day and weekly tickets that can be purchased from the driver.
