Will Go-Aheads YX63 reg E200s get the full Yellow Bee Network livery eventually or are they on loan and due to go back to wherever they came from? If anyone knows, that will be helpful!

On RailUK it was mentioned that an order of 50 integral E400EVs has been placed for Stagecoach at Oldham depot, and that the batch would be numbered 80201-50. These will be replacing 69 and 20 reg E400MMCs to Queen’s Road to start replacing the 58 reg B9TLs

Transport for Greater Manchester is acquiring garage premises ahead of the introduction of the third and final Tranche of Bee Network franchising.
Metroline has been using Arriva's Wythenshawe Depot as a training base since January. TfGM aspires to electrify Hyde Road and Ashton Garages, which will be occupied by Metroline Manchester under Tranche 3 from January 2025. Stockport is also being electricfied and relocated under a separate scheme and will continue to be occupied by Stagecoach, who are sourcing 170 Volvo BZL buses to replace the entire existing Stockport fleet.
Plans to combine the bus and tram networks into a single tap-on-tap-off system have been deferred from January to March, "to remove some risks from the process".
TfGM's Bee Network Committee has been given a report that shows increased revenue and better reliability in the first six months of Tranche 1 operation. Twenty additional buses have been added to the network, including additional buses fitted with guide wheels for the V1/V2 guideway routes. Reliability has also improved on Diamond routes following the delivery of sixty ADL Enviro200 MMCs.
Information from Buses Magazine, issue 834 (September 2024).

A Freedom of Information request was submitted requesting details of the vehicles procured for the Bee Network so far. The response was provided here and there are 3 documents provided. One summarises all the vehicles ordered by TfGM and franchisees but doesn’t mention which franchisee ordered what, another goes into far more detail on the TfGM ordered vehicles and the third is just the response saying what could be shared in a request.

The final piece of the franchising jigsaw has been put into place, with the awarding of seven home-to-school contracts to Diamond Bus North West and two to Go North West. The contracts will serve 37 schools in the south and east of Greater Manchester. Both operators picked up a number of regular services in the first two Tranches and Diamond Bus already operates home-to-school services. This does mean that Vision Bus, which won home-to-school contracts in the first Tranche, will be the only SME operator participating in Bee Network. www.route-one.net/news/manchester-bus-franchising-final-tranche-school-services-awarded/

Are there any on order?

Just doesn't read right at all. I can't imagine they have enough garages to justify using a third letter, there are 702 possible one or two letter codes so more than enough, the above should be AW, AL, SH and WY imo.

They are not used on buses, whether in operator or Bee Network livery. I have seen codes for Hyde Road HR, Ashton AN (I think), Sharston SH and Wythenshawe WY. So, some of these do match your preferred codes. I think Metroline want to come into Manchester and send a message of being different from their predecessors, even if just for the sake of being different.

Oh, I hadn't thought of this but have now.
Metroline have decided to be the first Manchester operator to use 3 letter garage codes, barely a year after deciding to be the first London operator to use 4 letter vehicle codes,

Buses magazine (October 2024) has an article on Metrobus Manchester - it seems to suggest that most of the Volvo BZL electrics due for Stagecoach at Stockport are going to end up with Metroline, I Quote - "These vehicles were initially ordered by Stagecoach as part of a joint bid with TfGM to the ZEBRA fund. The order was repurposed for the Bee network, with Metroline taking on the majority of the vehicles and the financial obligations for those" It states that 6 single deck BZL electrics are included. Moving across from Stagecoach are mostly Enviro E40H hybrids, plus the 32 BYD/ADL electrics. Article also states "2/3rds of initial fleet will be new, New Diesel Streetdecks and E200MMC single decks - number unspecified are on order.
