The six new Mellor Strata minibuses for "Calder Country" services at Halifax are now entering service on routes 530 (Fountainhead), 561/562 (Ripponden) and 577 (Boulderclough), this is what they look like (not my photo): flic.kr/p/2mHrVVAwww.transdevbus.co.uk/teampennine/new-tailor-made-buses-caldercountryIn the meantime, South Pennine Community Transport has been sub-contracted to operate routes 532 (King Cross) from 13th September and 514 (Pellon/Wainstalls) from 28th September, due to a temporary shortage of drivers. They are not the only operator sub-contracting in Halifax as CT Plus Yorkshire also has a three-bus operation covering First routes 539 (Stainland) and 587 (Rochdale) from 1st November. Operation of Halifax routes 514 and 532 reverted to Team Pennine from Monday 29th November, an indication that the driver shortage, for this company at least, is easing.

Be up in Calderdale for New Year, be interested to see what has become of Yorkshire Tiger 20, the local route of the people I am staying with. It was mostly Cadet sized vehicles, but deckers and Solo's were not uncommon. King Cross was my local drinking area when I lived up there, latter half anyhow.

Team Pennine made a number of changes to Halifax area services from Monday 25th July:
20 - new timetable 21 - new timetable and rerouted to Highroad Well 22 - new timetable. Between 09.00 and 16.00 buses will set down on Commercial Street and pick up on Market Street to get people closer to the town centre shops. 502 - minor timetable changes. This route is to be branded "Great Northern Line" with refurbished buses, the branding honours the Great Northern Railway which closed in 1955 and, like the 502, enabled people to travel directly between Halifax and Keighley without the need to go via Bradford. 514 - route withdrawn. First Bus will provide a replacement service for Wainstalls. 524 - will run between Halifax and Mixenden only, First Bus will operate to Wainstalls. 532 - new timetable to co-ordinate with route 21 587 - Team Pennine will take over all trips from First Bus, running hourly on Mondays to Saturdays and four return trips on Sunday. The route between Halifax and Rochdale is operated on behalf of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority although it operates partly in Greater Manchester.
