NXWM to cut fares and introduce weekly capping

National Express West Midlands is to reduce the price of its day and weekly tickets from 21st June, in readiness for the planned easing of restrictions which it is hoped will take place from that date.
A day ticket will reduce from £4.60 to £4, and a child day ticket from £2.50 to £2. A weekly ticket will reduce from £17.50 to £15.
In addition, NXWM will introduce weekly price capping for users of contactless bank capping or a mobile phone app, meaning that in a seven-day period users will be charged no more than £15 no matter how many journeys they take. Individual day use will also be price-capped at the day rate of £4.
The move is aimed at increasing bus use in the West Midlands, which it is hoped will bring down emissions. One of the barriers to bus use is not knowing how much it is going to cost.
