It’s very misleading as GWR are running local services, and some pairs of 387s are covering Paddington-Reading-Didcot services Apparently it’s the yaw damper bracket that has been cracking on Hitachi built units There has been similar problem on Northerns CAF units with cracked brackets Presumably Network Rail has inferior track causing fatigue cracks

The IC225’s will not be brought back into service temporarily today from what I understand.

Does this affect TransPennine Express?

While Oxford does have Chiltern services, GWR could perhaps have run a service as far as Bristol Parkway using 387s - where further interchange is available using GWR local services and Cross Country services.

Hull Trains also affected it seems. Across all depots, Some trains are being cleared for service following inspection. While 387s are cleared all the way to Cardiff, I don’t think the crews have all been signed off beyond Didcot or Swindon (but I’m happy to be proven wrong).

Actually an emergency service just as far as Bristol Parkway would help, as there are local and regional GWR services for onward journeys.

Now extended to some 385's as well. 395's are being checked over as well but nothing reported with those so far. AIUI GWR have about 6 80X's in service at the moment

LNER are to bring back the Class 91's into service on Tuesday instead of mid-June due to the Azumas being stopped.
