Shame the old InterCity 125s could not be brought back whilst this mess is being sorted out. At least passenger numbers are not yet back to normal, so the inconvenience is less.

C2C class 387s to be going to GWR to help out with the shortage of class 800. They will probably be deployed on extra fast services from Didcot Parkway/Newbury and Reading into London Paddington, operating in the paths of cancelled services.

Reports on the local BBC News (Spotlight South West) that GWR was able to return 20 out of its 93 units to service today. A service recovery plan is being developed with Hitachi and the aim is to have two thirds of the units operating a core service next week.
