Not sure if this will get much interest but I'll try anyway:
Is there anyone else like myself who is into games in small or big way? Anything video gaming related at all is fine.

I do game on the Switch every now and again, not had much time recently though. Been working through Breath of the Wild slowly but surely, one of the best games you can play.
On the other hand I've been attempting to get my hands on a PS5, but had no luck for a while.

Used to use my XBox One everyday. I traded it in for a Series S at Christmas and since then it's pretty much been gathering dust I suddenly just lost interest. I should use it more after the hassle I had buying it 😁

On the other hand I've been attempting to get my hands on a PS5, but had no luck for a while. I've got a Switch as well, haven't played Breath of the Wild yet but have recently finished the main story of Super Mario + Bowser's Fury which was fun. I've Pokemon Mystery Dungeons & Links Awakening that I need to revisit and finish off, Mystery Dungeon has been a bit stop start for my liking so probably will start the latter in the next few weeks otherwise I'm waiting for the two big Pokemon releases at the end of this year and beginning of next year. I feel for those trying to grab a PS5 but from someone who has one, your not missing a lot - nothing wrong with the console just there aren't many exclusives out there. I was fortunate in that I got a tip off last November about a late night restock on the Currys site which turned out to be true and I managed to nab one. I initially disliked the look but once set up, I've actually grown to really like the styling and it runs very quick with the fast loading times, not too loud although occasionally, they can tend to vibrate a bit if you have a disc one. PS5 wise, I've finished Ratchet & Clank, Rift Apart, brilliant game from start to finish if a little short story wise and the most impressive PS5 game I've seen so far with myself now currently 3/4 the way through the Alex Kidd remake on PS5 (Alex Kidd was the first game I ever played on a home console back on the Sega Master System). I've also played the odd thing from Playstation Plus like Wreckfest & Bugsnax (PS5 versions) - the former is like Destruction Derby from PS1 and is lots of fun whilst the latter is like Pokemon but way funnier especially the creature designs Outside of that, it's mostly PS4 games I've played this year as the PS5 was my return to Sony (last console from them I had was a PS2 ) and off the top of my head I've played: Train Sim World 2, Bus Simulator 18, Ratchet & Clank (2016), the whole Yakuza series (except Like a Dragon) which took a while and that was just the main story, still got the side stuff to return to at a later date

Had a feeling that would be the case with the PS5, it's hard to incentivise developers to develop for a console that's not well stocked. I'd imagine the games will pick up for it soon as they often do. But it'll just take some time to do so.

As someone who isn't a train enthusiast, I recommend it, surprisingly good and interesting game. If you have an Xbox, Train Sim World 2020 (the one before Train Sim World 2) is on GamePass.

I play games on my PS5 - FIFA, Call of Duty and GTA, on my laptop I have Train Simulator 2021, I’m gonna download Train Sim World 2 tonight, lately I haven’t really played any games due to doing lots of rest day work but will start playing again when I’ve got more time off. I’ve also got a PS4 but haven’t used it since I got my PS5 which was a struggle to get lol. As my nephew and daughter are off during the 6 weeks holiday they play my PS5 more than me with Sonic, Star Wars games. I’m planning on getting an Xbox soon but will wait near Christmas to get myself one

I haven't had a games console for the best part of twenty years, my last one being the Saturn. Which would now be the best to generally get? (not necessarily the latest/top variant)

(not necessarily the latest/top variant) What kind of games do you like? Because certain franchises etc are only available on certain consoles. If you like Mario and Nintendo stuff then the switch is kind of a must, which is why I'd personally recommend it, the fact that it is usable with a TV and is portable is a bonus! I'm very broad minded with choice of games but certainly would include the 80's and 90's classics for nostalgia. Would also love to try out movie/tv based games. The only thing I would exclude is anything too violent or what could be deemed offensive.

(not necessarily the latest/top variant) I had a Saturn too, only really to play Daytona USA, Sega Rally and to a lesser extent Manx TT racing. Shame as I don’t think the Saturn ever lived up to its potential. (I was always a Sega gamer over Nintendo!) After that I ended up with every PlayStation up till the 4, which just sits underneath my tv acting as a dust catcher nowadays! I will give a mention to Goldeneye on the N64 though, that game was epic! When that first come out, we’d all bundle round to our mates house, having tournaments as single players or as doubles, at times, we’d literally spend a whole Saturday in his room on it! Was so bad we all ended up going out and buying our own N64 controllers and personalising them! God knows what his mum though having 10-12 boys in his room every day!

I did like playing Assassins creed both 2 and brotherhood between 2009 and 2011. One of my family relatives had it as a gift and I got a bit addicted to it. I was a diehard fifa fan until pro 08 took over. Its been a while since I played them football games.

I have a PS4 and I play Apex Legends, Fortnite, GTA 5 & GTA Online, Call of Duty, Bus Simulator 18 & 21 as well as a few other games. I want to get the PS5 however they are still hard to find at the moment and also pretty pricey. Speaking of Bus Simulator 21, the devs recently announced a big update for the game which will be out on 23rd May 2023: bussimulator.com/en/news.php?news=24Looking forward to this as the current game has a lot of bugs and restrictions. PS5 has become a lot more available since Christmas, stock seems to be everywhere now. I have one, I only managed to get it by pure luck a year ago, and I also have an Xbox Series X but they are both great. Really fast, although I think I prefer the Xbox. I am also looking forward to the Bus Simulator 21 update, hopefully the upgrade will allow for more than 100 buses in the fleet and hopefully there will be new vehicles as well.

Recently finished Stray which was a very good game and once Sackboy is done, I’ll be moving onto Marvel Midnight Suns. I’ve also been playing a bit of the recently released Mario Land 2 on the Switch Online & Sonic Origins where I beat Sonic 1 and I’m quite far in Sonic 2 so far

I was expecting more because of the good reviews but it just felt flat, it should have been more akin to Marvel Ultimate Alliance rather than a card game. Hogwarts Legacy was incredible and I’ve been playing that recently on Series X.

I tried a free trial of the game and enjoyed it enough to purchase it. I’ve heard Hogwarts is really good, just not my thing 😂😉 Personally I’m waiting for Spider-Man 2 later this year
