Agreed it's a fantastic achievement considering her age!
It's sad that there's still critics like Piers Morgan but in the end she defeated him because she persevered and won the US Open

It's sad that there's still critics like Piers Morgan but in the end she defeated him because she persevered and won the US Open Piers Morgan congratulated her though. His criticism came after Wimbledon where she, by her own admission, bottled it. She came back in New York vastly better prepared mentally and absolutely nailed it, winning the tournament without dropping a set. Morgan, as he does to get a reaction, claimed Raducanu had ‘taken his advice’ but he was also very complimentary about her win and gave her due credit. Of course, it’s quite fashionable to have a go at Piers Morgan but on Emma Raducanu I’ve made him right throughout Raducanu is a superstar in the making - whilst they weren’t household names she beat some very good players, including, I believe, the Olympic champion and the player who beat the #1 seed. I think she’s probably going to be a multiple Grand Slam champion and I’d love to see her win Wimbledon one day

In both cases she more or less said they were right and whilst I never doubted her withdrawal as ill, having the hopes of a nation on your back could be incredibly nerve-racking especially as a solo athlete not a team like in football or cricket.

Anyway, congratulations to Emma!

He wants a reaction and there are plenty of people around who will give him that reaction

Positive immigration should be promoted. It makes a change from the many people who constantly go on about immigrants being scrounging criminals which is hysterical and over-dramatic.

I’ve never had a problem with positive immigration as in people coming to this country to work, to succeed and thrive in an entirely legal route. However using her in a way to promote immigration belittles her win and makes a poster child without even asking her if that’s what she wants.
