I find it was pathetic for people to just buy the song for a Christmas number 1 in protest to Cowell. There were many other ways to do this. The song had nothing to do with Christmas and more a joke imo It was absolutely fitting in one sense in that it was a protest song that stopped another dull and uninspiring Simon Cowell pop act hit the number one with a lifeless song. On top of that, and I'm no metal fan at all, possibly one of my least favourite genres in fact, but "Killing in the Name" is a great song as I discovered when playing GTA San Andreas. It was not a good heavy metal tune at all. The fact you do not even hear it play at Christmas time anywhere, unless you see a tv show of number 1's for all over the years.

Agreed, it really shows exactly what the X Factor is about which is getting someone normal to win so that it then portrays the message that you can go from absolutely nothing to something and it's always Syco who try and get the number 1 Christmas single to push this message through. I did not remember Joe McElderry after his win in 2009 (when this happened) but I remembered other finalists such as Stacey Solomon & Olly Murs and in other series such as One Direction. To be honest the only successful winners have been Alexandra Burke, Little Mix & Leona Lewis. The people who are remembered are those either with a good voice or a good personality of which these types of shows don't support because ultimately their message is towards normal people.

This post is the first time in 2022 I am giving my thumbs-up. It's the positivity towards Little Mix that has done it. I like Olly Murs too.
