With the return of the night service on the Jubilee Line maybe some Fri/Sat night express routes from North Greenwich into tubeless SE London?
NX161...... North Greenwich non stop to Well Hall Roundabout then all stops to Chislehurst and onto Orpington via the 61 route.

Not much choice but Uber as things stand, I think there is scope for a few weekend night service in SE London given the lack of tube services.

A new ilford to Oxford Street link called x25 and it stops at stations and stops that the 25 struggles on The 25 corridor suffers lots of congestion so can’t there being many benefits of a express route. The Elizabeth Line will take away some passengers so not sure you could justify the 25,86,425 and X25 in these times of cuts! I would be against cutting all stopping services in favour of express routes on a corridor like the Romford Road.

Maybe a x29 following 29 then follow 159 to lambeth Then x123 following 123 then goes to archway X18 follows 18 the goes to old street or angel Your falling into that same pitfall that most have fallen through - running express routes through choke filled Inner London without sufficient priority and that is already linked makes little sense. The current express routes all have unique reasons why they exist, not simply to duplicate an existing route

It would be wonderful if the X68 ran a more expansive timetable, (e.g Mon-Fri (6am-10am) and (3pm-8pm) and Sat (10am-3pm)) and for it to run in both directions at these times albeit with one direction having better service than the other, such as having a more frequent service northbound during morning peak and having a reduced service during evening peak.

In their new era of drastic bus cuts I’m surprised that the X68 has survived!

I'm actually surprised that the route has lasted as long as it has, when it was introduced in 1986 following complaints about the 68 being converted to OPO the general feeling was that it wouldn't last more than a few years. There is probably more of a case for a weekend X68 for the leisure market.

I got on it Thursday a couple of weeks ago at 17.44 at Aldwych and took the last seat upstairs with several people behind me having to go back down as the deck was full and then picked more up at Waterloo.

Pretty empty on Fridays though, poets day. Possibly a case for keeping it Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday although I don't know how practical that is?

I wonder if it would be practical to run a 30-minute service all day (including evenings and weekends), and run extra journeys on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday peaks? The 468 could be reduced slightly if needed although ideally it would keep its current levels of service during the daytime.
