Tomorrow and Sunday, it says the district line is not working but is it just passenger testing for the ATO Commissioning this weekend. No trains tomorrow Wimbledon/Richmond/Ealing-West Ham until 11.00. after 11.00 trains will run passenger but detrain at the boundaries of Sloane Square, Barons Court, Fulham Broadway, Paddington. At some point on either Saturday afternoon or Sunday certification for passenger service should be received and trains will then allow passengers to be carried

This will mean the entire Circle Line will be under the new signalling. SMA6 (Stepney Green to Becontree) will complete the H&C.

Hopefully the trains are now a little bit faster on the SMA5... trains sometimes are very slow on this part of the line

Am I the only one that has no idea what this thread is about? Can someone kindly explain for the layman.

Am I the only one that has no idea what this thread is about? Can someone kindly explain for the layman. SMA stands for Signal Migration Area I believe and this weekend will see the commissioning of the 5th area. This is part of the new 4 lines modernisation project which aims at converting the the 4 subsurface lines to Automatic Train Operation. content.tfl.gov.uk/fpc-160121-item11-four-lines-modernisation.pdfHopefully the link works. If you scroll down you’ll see a diagram of the various SMAs. Areas 1-4 have already been commissioned.

District Line was a mess around 2.30pm with no eastbound service from Tower Hill and a 20min service westbound. As a side note I wish drivers would advise passengers when the Monument interchange to Bank is closed! this caught me out as you can't see until you have exited the train.

Has been closed since 15 January when Northern Line Bank branch closed. I didn’t realise that, I assumed the interchange was only closed when the DLR was closed at Bank.
